Kenneth Cox
Kenneth R. Cox (born October 8, 1928) is an Ohio Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician and a former member of the Ohio General Assembly. Life Born in Ohio in 1928, Cox attended the University of Akron. He was serving as mayor of Barberton, Ohio, when he opted to run for an open seat in the Ohio House of Representatives in 1972. He ended up being reelected in 1974. In 1976, Senator David Headley (politician), David Headley announced his retirement, and Cox won election to his Ohio Senate seat. In 1982, Cox considered a run for Ohio Treasurer, and eventually entered the race. However, he lost the primary nomination. While defeated in the treasurer's election, new Ohio Governor Dick Celeste announced soon after that he would appoint Cox as the Director for the Department of Public Safety. David Headley (politician)
David Coleman Headley (born Daood Sayed Gilani; June 30, 1960) is an American terrorist. He is known for assisting the Pakistan based Islamist group Lashkar-e-Taiba in planning the 2008 Mumbai attacks; providing multiple surveillance and terrorist reconnaissance missions throughout central Mumbai. Born in Washington D.C, He became a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) informant as part of his plea deal following multiple heroin related offenses, including attempting to smuggle narcotics into the U.S from Pakistan. After being placed on probation he made frequent unauthorized visits to Pakistan and became involved in the local Jihadism, jihad after being introduced to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Under the direction of Lashkar representatives, Headley performed five surveillance missions in Mumbai to scout targets for the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Dick Celeste
Richard Frank Celeste (born November 11, 1937) is an American former diplomat, university administrator and politician from Ohio. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 64th governor of Ohio from 1983 to 1991. Early life and career Celeste was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in Lakewood, Ohio, the son of Margaret Louis and Frank Palm Celeste. His father was born in Cerisano, Italy. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1955. In 1959, he graduated magna cum laude from Yale University where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Celeste then received a Rhodes Scholarship to attend Exeter College at Oxford University, where he is an Honorary Fellow. There he met Dagmar Ingrid Braun, whom he married in Austria in 1962. The Ohio Senate is the upper house of the Ohio General Assembly. The State Senate, which meets in the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, first convened in 1803. Senators are elected for four year terms, staggered every two years such that half of the seats are contested at each election. Marcus Aurelius Roberto (November 26, 1930 – February 24, 1986), a Democrat, was a member of the Ohio General Assembly. Roberto initially won a seat in the Ohio House of Representatives in 1970, replacing Anice Johnson, and won reelection in 1972 and 1974. However, Roberto sought to move up to the Ohio Senate in 1976. The Ohio House of Representatives is the lower house of the Ohio General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Ohio; the other house of the bicameral legislature being the Ohio Senate. The House of Representatives first met in Chillicothe on March 3, 1803, under the later superseded state constitution of that year. In 1816, the capital was moved to Columbus, where it is located today. Barberton, Ohio
Barberton is a city in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 26,550 at the 2010 census. Lying directly southwest of Akron, it is a suburb of the Akron metropolitan area. History Barberton was founded in 1891 by industrialist O.C. Barber, who planned the town according to his vision of industry, progress and community. In 1894 he moved the manufacturing operations of the Diamond Match Company, which he formed from a merger of 11 companies, from Akron to Barberton. He soon was producing 250 million matches a day. In the valley running parallel to the Tuscarawas River and the Ohio & Erie Canal, he oversaw the construction of factories, residential neighborhoods and a compact commercial downtown.
