Kenmore Hills is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Kenmore Hills had a population of 2,402 people. Geography Kenmore Hills is by road by the Brisbane GPO. Although the northern part of the suburb is on the foothills of Mount Coot-tha, there is only one named peak in the suburb: Carver Hill in the south-east () at above sea level. History Kenmore Hills originally formed part of Brookfield, but in 1969 the name was changed to Kenmore Hills, based on the neighbouring suburb of Kenmore. In 1932 Father Robert Bartlett Bates, the rector of All Saints Anglican Church at Wickham Terrace purchased a house at 139 Brookfield Road () to establish St John's Home for Aged Men, which subsequently relocated to West Toowong (where it continues to operate as St John's Residential Aged Care Home). Wickham Terrace is one of the historic streets of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is known as the street of private medical specialists. Geography Wickham Terrace commences at the western corner of the intersection of Ann Street and Wharf Street in the Brisbane central business district () and then gradually rises in a winding westerly direction up the slopes of Spring Hill. It then follows the ridge and rises to the north and then to the west, creating the upper boundary of Albert Park. The name ''Wickham Terrace'' terminates at the intersection with Gregory Terrace () but the road continues as College Road through into the Normanby Fiveways. Kenmore State High School
Kenmore State High School is a secondary education institution in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, with 1,960 students from grades seven through twelve in 2020. The school was opened in 1972. Since that time, it has offered many extracurricular activities such as scuba diving and horseback riding. There is also a geography club which travels to Canada annually and had its 40th anniversary in 2012. In 2015, a grade seven cohort was added. The National Redress Scheme (NRS) was established in 2018 by the Australian Government as a result of a recommendation by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. The Legislative Assembly of Queensland is the sole chamber of the unicameral Parliament of Queensland established under the Constitution of Queensland. James Francis Maxwell
James Francis Maxwell was a politician in Queensland, Australia. He was the mayor of the City of Brisbane and a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly for Toowong. Early life James Francis Maxwell was born in 1862 in County Armagh, Ireland, the son of Samuel Maxwell and his wife Matilda (née Stoops). On 23 July 1890 he married Alice Annie Letitia Davies at St Peter's Church at West End, Brisbane, the daughter of John Davies, the engineer and manager at the South Brisbane Gas Company who designed the (now heritage-listed) West End Gasworks.
