Kenmore Air Harbor is a public-use seaplane base at the northern end of Lake Washington and south of the central business district of Kenmore, Washington, U.S. It primarily serves western Washington and parts of southwestern British Columbia. The base is primarily used by regional seaplane airline Kenmore Air. Facilities and aircraft Kenmore Air Harbor covers an area of at an elevation of 14 feet (4 m) above mean sea level. It has two seaplane landing areas: 16/34 is 10,000 by 1,000 feet (3,048 x 305 m) and 18/36 is 3,000 by 1,000 feet (914 x 305 m). Kenmore is a city in King County, Washington, United States, along the northernmost shore of Lake Washington. It is a suburban commuter town at the mouth of the Sammamish River, northeast of downtown Seattle and west of Bothell. The population was 20,460 at the 2010 census. Kenmore Air Harbor is the largest seaplane-only passenger facility of its kind in the United States. Kenmore is connected to nearby areas by State Route 522 and the Burke-Gilman Trail, which both run east–west along the lakeshore. Stuart Island (British Columbia)
Stuart Island is one of the Discovery Islands of British Columbia, which lie between northern Vancouver Island and the British Columbia Coast. It is privately owned and has no ferry access. It is situated at the mouth of Bute Inlet to the east of the larger Sonora Island within Electoral Area C of the Strathcona Regional District. The island, and Bute Inlet, were named for John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute, Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1762 to 1763. Cortes Island is an island in the Discovery Islands archipelago on the coast of British Columbia, Canada. The island is long, wide, and in area. It has a population of 1,035 permanent residents (2016 census). Shoal Bay, British Columbia
Shoal Bay was a cannery town in the Discovery Islands region of the South Coast of British Columbia in Canada, located on the northeast side of East Thurlow Island, at the bay of the same name. Once the largest town (1895-1900) on the western coast of Canada, Shoal Bay was a hub for mining and forestry. Gold was mined in the hillsides above the town and the surrounding areas. When mining slowed in the early 20th century there was a shift towards timber and fishing. Shoal bay survived as a small town supporting a school and market until the 1950s when the school closed and families moved to more developed communities such as Campbell River. Today, Shoal Bay exists only as a small resort, offering moorage at the government wharf, a small pub/cafe, and accommodation. Bones Bay
Bones Bay is located inside the territorial properties of the Namgiis Indigenous Peoples on a bay the north side of West Cracroft Island in the Johnstone Strait region of the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, on Clio Channel. It is historically important for serving as a quarantine refuge in response to the illegal expulsion of smallpox infected persons, all Indigenous citizens from Fort Victoria during the introduced smallpox plague of 1862. The Naamgiis People prepared this quarantine site for 25 Haida canoes that had been forcibly removed under threat of weapons and after their homes in Ogden Point, Rock Bay and Cadboro Bay had been burnt down by British police. Most but not all the Haidas refugees died in the Bones Bay quarantine site but all were supplied wth water, food, shelter and comforts by the Naamgiis.
