Kendyll Pope
Kendyll Pope (born May 9, 1981) is a former American football linebacker who played for the Indianapolis Colts. He played college football at Florida State. High school career A native of Fort White, Florida, Pope attended Columbia High School, where he developed into one of the best defensive players in the state of Florida. In his senior year, he recorded 175 tackles, seven sacks and four caused fumbles, which earned him first-team Class 6A all-state honors, as well as All-American selections by ''USA Today'' and ''Parade''. Ranked as the No. 5 linebacker in the country by SuperPrep, Pope was recruited by numerous schools. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). Brian Allen (linebacker)
Brian Lamar Allen (born April 1, 1978) is a former American football linebacker who played four seasons in the National Football League. Allen played college football at Florida State University. High school career A native of Lake City, Florida, Allen attended Columbia High School, where he played linebacker and was an honor student as a senior. In his senior season, he recorded 159 tackles and 5.5 sacks, and also picked off four passes and returned three for scores. Allen was named third-team all-state Class 6A, and was looking forward to a scholarship offer by University of Florida in Gainesville, just down the Interstate 75 from Lake City. The 1991 Florida State Seminoles football team represented Florida State University in the 1991 NCAA Division I-A football season. Marvin Jones (linebacker)
Marvin Maurice Jones (born June 28, 1972) is an American former professional football player who was a middle linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for eleven seasons during the 1990s and early 2000s. Jones played college football for the Florida State Seminoles and was recognized as an All-American twice. He was drafted in the first round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the New York Jets and he played his entire professional career for the Jets. Bradley Fanelon Jennings (born December 2, 1977) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football at Florida State. A native of Miami, Jennings attended Carol City High School, where he was a first-team Class 6A linebacker as a senior. Jennings led the Chiefs in tackles and had a dominating performance in the 1996 state championship win over Tampa Hillsborough. He was rated as the No. 3 linebacker in Florida by the ''Florida Times-Union'', and selected FSU over Auburn and West Virginia. The 2002 Gator Bowl was a post-season American college football bowl game between the Florida State Seminoles and the Virginia Tech Hokies, The 57th edition of the Gator Bowl, it was played at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, on January 1, 2002.
