Ezekiel Kemboi Cheboi (born 25 May 1982) is a Kenyan professional athlete, winner of the 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2004 Summer Olympics, the 2009 World Championships, the 2011 World Championships, the 2012 Summer Olympics, the 2013 World Championships and the 2015 World Championships. His 3000 m steeplechase best of 7:55.76 set at Monaco in 2011 places him as the sixth fastest of all time. This time is also the fastest non-winning time in history. He is one of only four men to have won both Olympic and World golds in the event, along with Reuben Kosgei, Brimin Kipruto and Conseslus Kipruto. He is the only multiple gold medalist in both. Polat Kemboi Arıkan (born 12 December 1990 in Cheptiret, Kenya) is a Turkish long-distance runner of Kenyan origin competing in the 3000 m and 5000 m events. Clement Kimutai Kemboi (born 10 February 1992) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner specializing in the 3000 metres steeplechase. He was the 2005 African Games champion in that event. Biography Kemboi's first international circuit win was at the 2011 Weltklasse in Biberach, where he ran a personal best of 8:34.22 in the 3000 m steeplechase. He went on to record top-three finishes at several minor meetings over the next few years, including being a pacemaker for steeplechase and 5000 m races. Nicholas Kemboi (born November 25, 1983, in Kericho) is an athlete from Qatar who specialises in long-distance running. Unlike many other Kenyan-born athletes, he kept his name when changing affiliation to the Middle Eastern country. He is the fourth fastest man of all time at 10,000 meters, with a personal best of 26:30.03 set in 2003 at the young age of 20. Elijah Kiprono Kemboi (born 1984) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in marathon races. He has won marathons in Košice and Antwerp. His personal best for the event is 2:07:34 hours. He competed in Kenyan road races in his early twenties and the Nairobi Marathon was his first experience of the distance (14th in 2008 and 21st in 2009). Lawrence Kemboi Kipsang (born 15 June 1993) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner specializing in the 3000 metres steeplechase. Biography As a junior, Kipsang won the steeplechase at the Kenya Prisons Championships in 2012 with a time of 8:38.4. Simon Kemboi (born March 1, 1967) is a retired sprinter from Kenya. He specialised in 400 metres. He is a World Championships and African Championships medalist, and competed at the Olympics. Career Kemboi was part of the 4x400 relay team that finished fifth at the 1991 World Championships. He competed at the Olympics for first time at the 1992 Summer Olympics, taking part in 400 metres, where he reached semifinal. David Kemboi Kiyeng (born 1983) is a Kenyan marathon runner. He is a two-time winner of the Reims Marathon and has also won the Italian Marathon, JoongAng Seoul Marathon, Chuncheon Marathon and Daegu Marathon. His personal best for the distance is 2:06:26, which was set at the 2009 edition of the Paris Marathon. Career His first major marathon competition came in 2006 at the Prague International Marathon and he finished second behind Hassan Mubarek Shami in a time of 2:11:42. Working with top Italian distance running coach, Claudio Berardelli, he improved his best in his second outing at the Italian Marathon and defeated David Makori in a sprint finish to the line to win his first race.
