Kemama
"Kemama" is a song performed by Czech singer Benny Cristo. It was chosen to represent the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, after winning the country's national final. The song was released as a digital download on 20 January 2020. Eurovision Song Contest The song would have represented the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 after Benny Cristo was chosen through Eurovision Song CZ, the national selection process organised by Česká televize, to select the Czech Republic's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. On 28 January 2020, a special allocation draw was held which placed each country into one of the two semi-finals, as well as selecting which half of the show they would perform in. Czech Republic was placed into the second semi-final, to be held on 14 May 2020, and was scheduled to perform in the first half of the show. The Czech Republic originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song " Kemama" written by Osama Verse-Atile, Ben Cristóvão, Charles Sarpong and Rudy Ray. The song was performed by Benny Cristo, which is the artistic name of singer Ben Cristóvão. The Czech broadcaster Česká televize (ČT) organised the national final ''Eurovision Song CZ 2020'' in order to select the Czech entry for the 2020 contest in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Seven entries competed in the national final and "Kemama" performed by Benny Cristo was announced as the winner on 3 February 2020 following the combination of votes from an eleven-member international jury panel and a public vote. Ben da Silva Cristóvão (born 8 June 1987), known professionally as Ben Cristovao or Benny Cristo, is a Czech singer, lyric writer, sportsman, and actor. He was nominated to represent the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam after winning the national round with the song Kemama. After the contest was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Czech Television confirmed on that Cristo would instead represent the Czech Republic in the 2021 contest. Benny Cristo sings in both Czech and English. Personal life Cristo's mother is Czech and his father, Bénis Cristóvão, is from Angola. He has three younger siblings from the same father but with different mothers. The girls' mother is Ana Bela Cristovão, who is now married to Bénis Cristóvão. The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was planned to be the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It would have taken place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, following the country's victory at the with the song "Arcade" by Duncan Laurence.
