Kelvin Arase
Kelvin Arase (born 15 January 1999) is an Austrian professional footballer who plays as a winger for German club Waldhof Mannheim. Club career Early career Born in Benin City in 1999, Arase started his football career with SR Donaufeld Wien youth team in 2009. In 2011, Arase moved to Rapid Wien youth team. Rapid Wien In 2016, Arase was called up for Rapid Wien first team. On 19 September 2016, Arase made his Austrian Bundesliga debut against SV Mattersburg at Allianz Stadion, replacing Louis Schaub at the 86th minute by coach Mike Büskens. On 13 August 2019, Arase was loaned out to SV Ried. However, he was recalled after only two weeks due to injuries in the Rapid Wien squad. SV Mattersburg was an Austrian association football club from Mattersburg, Burgenland. History The club was formed in 1922 and played its home games at the 17,100 capacity Pappelstadion. The club played in the Bundesliga since the 2003–04 season. The 2019–20 Austrian Football Second League is the 46th season of the Austrian second-level football league and the second one as the Second League. The league contains 16 teams with one team being promoted to the Austrian Football Bundesliga and 3 teams being relegated to the Austrian Regionalliga. The Austrian Football Second League (german: 2. Liga) is the second-highest professional division in Austrian football. It was formerly called the First League (''Erste Liga''), from 2002 to 2018. The division currently contains 16 teams, and the champion of the league is promoted to the Austrian Bundesliga. Therefore, Rapid Wien started in the 3rd qualifying round of the 2016/17 Europa League competition. This was the first season Rapid played in the Allianz Stadion. On 7 November 2016, after a 0-1 defeat at home against Wolfsberger AC both manager Mike Büskens and Director of Football Andreas Müller were sacked. Four days later Damir Canadi was presented as the new manager, joining Rapid from league rival SCR Altach. On 11 December, Fredy Bickel was presented as the new Director of Football.
