Kellyville Ridge is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Kellyville Ridge is located 41 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of City of Blacktown. It is part of Greater Western Sydney. History The suburb takes its name from the ridge, the main geographical feature of vertical significance in the northern part of the area. Kellyville Ridge is thought to be the area where the Castle Hill Rebellion (also known as the Second Battle of Vinegar Hill) took place, many roads and reserves are named after it in Kellyville and a memorial was placed in Castlebrook Lawn Cemetery in 1988. Kellyville Ridge was originally part of Kellyville and became a separate suburb when the area west of Windsor Road was renamed in 2002. Merriville House & Gardens is a heritage-listed residence at Eire Way, Kellyville Ridge, City of Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1817 to 1855. It is also known as Hambledon Cottage, Hambledon and Maryville. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. Tallawong railway station, originally known as Cudgegong Road railway station, is a station near the intersection of Cudgegong and Schofield Roads, Tallawong, in Sydney, Australia. The Sydney Metro is a fully automated rapid transit system serving the city of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Currently consisting of one line that opened on 26 May 2019, it runs from Tallawong to Chatswood and consists of 13 stations and of twin tracks, mostly underground. Quakers Hill railway station is located on the Richmond line, serving the Sydney suburb of Quakers Hill. It is served by Sydney Trains T1 Western and T5 Cumberland line services. History Quakers Hill station opened in 1872 as Douglas Siding. It was renamed Quakers Hill on 30 March 1905 and relocated to its present location on 29 June 1939. Two sets of points at the southern end of the station allow trains to terminate on either platform. The station had a crossing loop until the line from Marayong was duplicated to Quakers Hill in 2002. Schofields railway station is located on the Richmond line, serving the Sydney suburb of Schofields. It is served by Sydney Trains T1 Western and T5 Cumberland line services. History Schofields station opened in 1870. It was named after John Schofield, a local pioneer who was a former convict who later settled in the area after building a saw mill beside the railway line.
