Kelly Nabong
Kelly Berry Nabong (born November 17, 1988) is a Filipino-American basketball player for the Blackwater Bossing of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was selected 17th overall in the 2012 PBA draft by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. He would be later traded to the Meralco Bolts on draft night. Professional career He was traded to GlobalPort as part of the Sol Mercado deal between Meralco and the GlobalPort. On September 4, 2013, he was involved in a brawl in a game against San Mig Coffee Mixers. The scuffle ensued after teammate Marvin Hayes and San Mig import Marqus Blakely got tangled up. Blakely's teammate Joe Devance shoved Hayes down on the floor, then he pushed Blakely. Marc Pingris came into the scene and exchanged blows with him. Joe Calvin Devance Jr. (born February 19, 1982) is a Filipino-American former professional basketball player who won 12 championships over the course of his career with the Alaska Aces, the Magnolia franchise, and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Professional career Welcoat Dragons (2007–2008) The forward Devance attended the University of Texas, El Paso between 2001 and 2004. He entered the PBA in 2007 as the first overall pick by then-expansion team Welcoat. Gabby Espinas
Gabriel Espinas (born January 3, 1982) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Batang Kankaloo – Caloocan of the Pilipinas Super League. A 6'4" forward, he was drafted fifth overall by the Beermen in the 2006 PBA draft. He made a name in the amateur ranks as the first-ever Rookie of the Year-Most Valuable Player of the NCAA while playing for the PCU Dolphins. Amateur career Espinas began to play for PCU in the NCAA in the 2004 season. 2016 PBA Draft
The 2016 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) rookie draft was an event which allows teams to draft players from the amateur ranks. The league determined the drafting order based on the performance of the member teams for the 2015–16 season, with the worst team picking first, as a replacement for its lottery system after the controversies that surrounded the 2014 draft. The league was supposed to hold a special draft for players from the national team, popularly called '' Gilas'', separately from the regular one for other rookies. However, a consensus lead to an agreement that the cadet players will not be drafted but will be distributed to each team instead.
