Kelly Candaele is a politician, filmmaker, teacher, and writer. For the past fifteen years, he has written extensively for the ''Los Angeles Times'', the ''New York Times'', ''The Nation'' and other national publications. While writing for the Los Angeles Times, he traveled to Ireland three times during President Bill Clinton’s attempts to push the Northern Ireland peace process forward. His journalistic work has focused primarily on the political developments in Los Angeles, history, athletics and culture. In addition to Northern Ireland he has worked as a journalist in Great Britain, Brazil, Sweden, Cuba, Spain, Vietnam and India. The All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) was a professional women's baseball league founded by Philip K. Wrigley which existed from 1943 to 1954. The AAGPBL is the forerunner of women's professional league sports in the United States. Over 600 women played in the league, which consisted of eventually 10 teams located in the American Midwest.
