	Clarence Budington Kelland Clarence Budington "Bud" Kelland (July 11, 1881 – February 18, 1964) was an American writer. Prolific and versatile, he was a prominent literary figure in his heyday, and he described himself as "the best second-rate writer in America". Kelland had a long career as a writer of fiction, stretching from 1913 to 1960. He was published in many magazines, including ''The Saturday Evening Post'' and ''The American Magazine''. A prolific writer, his output included 60 novels and some 200 short stories. His best known juvenile works were the Mark Tidd series and the Catty Atkins series, while his best known adult work was the Scattergood Baines series. Other notable adult books by Kelland include ''Conflict'' (1920), ''Rhoda Fair'' (1925), ''Hard Money'' (1930), ''Arizona'' (1939), and ''Dangerous Angel'' (1953). 	Gilbert Kelland Gilbert James Kelland (17 March 1924 – 30 August 1997) was a British police officer in the Metropolitan Police in London. Kelland grew up in North Devon and was educated at Georgeham Church School and Braunton Secondary Modern School. He served in the Fleet Air Arm in the Second World War from 1942 to 1946, when he joined the Metropolitan Police as a Constable. He passed his Inspector's course in 1955 and was an Inspector by 1958, when he was working in the vice squad. In 1959 he was promoted Chief Inspector, still in vice. By 1964 he was a Superintendent and in 1968 he was president of the Superintendents' Association. In 1969 he went to the United States to study American law enforcement on a Ford Fellowship. By 1971 he had been promoted Commander. As a Deputy Assistant Commissioner, he was awarded the Queen's Police Medal (QPM) in the 1975 New Year Honours. 	Peter Kelland Peter Alban Kelland (20 September 1926 – 24 October 2011) was an English cricketer. Kelland was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium. He was born at Pinner, Middlesex, to Parents Rev Alban Joseph Kelland and Stella Prynne. Kelland was educated at Repton School during World War II, where he was Head of his House and played in the school cricket team. Alongside Donald Carr, the school's captain, he was the school's main bowler, taking 43 wickets in 1944. No school side Repton played against during this period managed to make a score of at least 100 against them. After leaving Repton, he spent two years in the Royal Marines. After two years in the Marines he began his studies at the University of Cambridge. He made his first-class debut for Cambridge University Cricket Club against Sussex at Fenner's in 1949. picture info	Philip Kelland Philip Kelland PRSE FRS (17 October 1808 – 8 May 1879) was an English mathematician. He was known mainly for his great influence on the development of education in Scotland. Life Kelland was born in 1808 the son of Philip Kelland (d.1847), curate in Dunster, Somerset, England. He was educated at Sherborne, and an undergraduate at Queens' College, Cambridge, where he was tutored privately by English mathematician William Hopkins and graduated in 1834 as senior wrangler and first Smith's prizeman. He was ordained in the Church of England. From 1834 to 1838, he was a fellow of Queens' College, Cambridge. Kelland was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 1838 and Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1839. He served as Secretary of the RSE 1843-4, Vice-President 1857–77 and President 1878-9.
