Kekec
Kekec is a fictional children's literature character created by Slovenian author Josip Vandot in 1918. He was first introduced in the serial "Kekec on the Hard Path" () in ''Zvonček'' magazine (volume 19, issue 1/2). He is a young shepherd boy living in the Julian Alps, revered in Slovenia, and the subject of several films. Kekec (1951 Film)
''Kekec'' is a 1951 Slovene/Yugoslavian adventure-youth film directed by Jože Gale. The film was based on the ''Kekec Above the Lonely Abyss'' (), a mountain narrative by Josip Vandot, the last of three stories about ''Kekec'', which was published in Slovenian youth magazine Zvonček in 1924. The film was produced by ''Triglav Film'' and originally distributed by ''Vesna film'', currently at ''Viba film''. The story is set in the northwest part of Slovenian mountains, mainly in author's birthplace Kranjska Gora and Julian Alps. This is the first in the Jože Gale film series about Kekec and has two sequels: '' Good Luck, Kekec (Srečno, Kekec!)'' from 1963 and '' Kekec's Tricks (Kekčeve ukane)'' from 1968. ''Good Luck, Kekec'' ( sl, Srečno, Kekec!) is a 1963 Yugoslav/Slovenian adventure film directed by Jože Gale. Film was based on the ''Kekec on the Wolf Trail'' (''Kekec na volčji sledi''), a mountain narrative by Josip Vandot, second of three stories about ''Kekec'', which was published in Slovenian youth magazine Zvonček in 1922. Josip Vandot
Josip Vandot (15 January 1884 – 11 July 1944) was a Slovene writer and poet who wrote mainly for young readers. Biography Vandot was born in Kranjska Gora in Upper Carniola, then part of Austria-Hungary, now in Slovenia. Under the interwar Kingdom of Yugoslavia, he was employed as a railway official in Maribor. In 1941, after the area was annexed by Germany, Vandot was deported to Croatia. He was killed in the Allied bombing of Slavonski Brod in 1944. A street is now named for him in Kranjska Gora. ''Kekec's Tricks'' ( sl, Kekčeve ukane) is a 1968 Yugoslav/Slovenian adventure film directed by Jože Gale. The film is based on the '' Kekec'' mountain narratives by Josip Vandot, originally published in Slovenian youth magazine Zvonček. It was produced at ''Viba film'' and distributed originally at ''Vesna film'' and currently at ''Viba film''. This is the last of three in the Jože Gale film series about Kekec and has two previous parts: '' Kekec'' from 1951 and '' Good Luck, Kekec (Srečno, Kekec!)'' from 1963. Matija Barl
Matija Barl (17 February 1940 – 3 August 2018) was a Slovenian actor, producer and translator. In 1962 he founded and organized the first, oldest and most important Slovenian music festival called Slovenska popevka. Biography Barl was born in Ljubljana and lived around where he loved to play. When he was 11 years he went to the audition for the movie ''Kekec'' where he was chosen out of more than a thousand kids. He got the role of main character Kekec, a strong and fearless child superhero, for which he is best known today. Everyone identified him with this role so strongly that all the kids in real life wanted to fight with him. So he had to take classes for martial arts such as wrestling and judo. Frane Milčinski
Frane Milčinski (pen name Ježek; 14 December 1914 – 27 February 1988) was a Slovene poet, satirist, humorist and comedian, actor, children's writer, and director. Marjan Kozina
Marjan Kozina (4 June 1907 – 19 June 1966) was a Slovene composer. He is considered one of the most important Slovene composers of the 20th century. His best known works include a symphony, composed in stages through the late 1940s; the opera ''Equinox'', completed in 1943; two ballets from the early 1950s, and the music for the film ''On Our Own Land'' (Na svoji zemlji), which he later arranged into a suite for orchestra. Polde Bibič
Polde Bibič (3 February 1933 – 13 July 2012) was a Slovenian stage and film actor, a writer, and an academic professor, best known for his role in the film '' Flowers in Autumn'' and his work in theater, Bibič was a recipient of several top awards in the field of arts in Slovenia. Life Bibič was born in Maribor. He attended the secondary school in the town and then studied stage plays in Ljubljana under Vida Juvan. He finished his studies in 1961. He first appeared in the film '' Moments of Decision'' (''Trenutki odločitve''; 1955), directed by František Čap. Bojan Adamič
Bojan Adamič a.k.a. Master ( sl, Mojster; 9 August 1912 – 3 November 1995), Slovene Partisans nom de guerre Gregor, was a well-known Slovene composer of jazz, the Slovenian song festival music, and particularly film scores. He was also an avid photographer, interested particularly in carnival figures from Ptuj. Life Adamič was born in Ribnica in the Duchy of Carniola, Austria-Hungary. He finished the Poljane Grammar School in 1931, and earned a degree in piano from the Ljubljana Music Academy in June 1941. During World War II, he financially supported the anti-fascist Slovenian resistance movement. In 1943, he joined Slovene Partisans, where he was also injured in an attack by Germans and was relocated to the headquarters, providing music that was then emitted by the Liberation Front Radio.
