Keitumetse Paul (19 May 1973 - 13 August 2021) was a Botswanan former footballer who played as a midfielder. He played for the Botswana national football team The Botswana national football team was founded in 1970 to represent Botswana in association football and is governed by the Botswana Football Association (BFA). Botswana (, ), officially the Republic of Botswana ( tn, Lefatshe la Botswana, label=Setswana, ), is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. Mochudi Centre Chiefs Sporting Club are a professional football club based in Gaborone, Botswana, who play in the Botswana first division following their relegation from the Premier League in 2019. Centre Chiefs have won the Botswana Premier League, the highest level of Botswana football, four times. The team originates from Mochudi, a large village on the outskirts of Gaborone. History Mochudi Centre Chiefs were founded in 1972 by local elders. Centre Chiefs had their first major success in 2008 when they won the Botswana Premier League. The Chiefs then won back-to-back titles in 2011-12 and 2012-13. They subsequently won various cup competitions between 2008 and 2015. Chico Rooks
The Chico Rooks were an American soccer team, founded in 1993 by Dave Stahl and Eric Snedeker. The team was a member of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2006. Initially, the team's management announced that they would spend the 2007 NPSL season on hiatus while they re-organised and consolidated their finances; the Rooks never returned to active competition and the franchise was cancelled by the NPSL at the end of the 2007 season. The Rooks were a stalwart of the United Soccer Leagues from their formation in 1993 until 2003, where upon they were founding members of the Men's Premier Soccer League (now the National Premier Soccer League). Uniao Flamengo Santos is a football club from Gabane, Botswana, based in Gaborone. They play their home matches at UB Stadium in Gaborone. The club is named after two Brazilian clubs: Flamengo and Santos. Its colors, however, are blue and white, and its home kit is similar to the Argentine national team's. Uniao Flamengo Santos was promoted to Botswana's top level league, which is the Mascom Premier League, during the 2005–06 season, when the club finished in First Division South's first position. The Botswana national football team was founded in 1970 to represent Botswana in association football and is governed by the Botswana Football Association (BFA). It qualified for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. History It took part in its first preliminary competition for the 1994 World Cup in the United States, where it faced Niger and Ivory Coast. It managed a 0–0 draw with the latter in Gaborone, and lost its other 3 matches, finishing last in its group. The next competition it entered was for the 2002 World Cup, where it faced Zambia in a 2-legged tie to decide which team would advance to the group stages. Zambia won both legs of the tie to qualify and knock Botswana out. After this, Botswana lost 3–0 to Zambia and to second-string sides from South Africa and Zimbabwe at home in Gaborone. Mochudi Centre Chiefs SC Players
Mochudi is one of the larger villages in Botswana with a population of 44,815 people in 2011. It is situated in the Bakgatla tribal region, in Kgatleng District, about northeast of Gaborone. The village lies several kilometres from the main Gaborone–Francistown road, and can be accessed through a short turn at Pilane. Mochudi was settled by the Tswana people in 1871. The main attraction in Mochudi is the Phuthadikobo Museum which is perched at the top of a hill and holds a rich history of Bakgatla tribe and Batswana in general. History Mochudi was established as a result of people movements. Under pressure from Boer encroachment on their historic lands, the Bakgatla tribe migrated from what is now South Africa, settling in 1871 at the foot of Phuthadikobo Hill and beside the Notwane River.
