Keith Williams (footballer Born 1937)
Keith Williams (born 14 January 1937) is a footballer who played as inside forward for Everton, Tranmere Rovers, Plymouth Argyle and Bristol Rovers. Williams joined Everton from school, but transferred to Tranmere in May 1957, joining his brother Ray there. He scored 88 goals in 161 Football League appearances during his four seasons at Tranmere, but conflict with manager Walter Galbraith Walter McMurray Galbraith (26 May 1918 – November 1995) was a Scottish football player and manager. He played as a defender for Queen's Park, Clyde, New Brighton and Grimsby Town. He then managed Accrington Stanley, Bradford Park Avenue, ... led to his being transfer-listed. Williams moved to Plymouth at the end of the 1960–61 season, then to Bristol Rovers soon after. He was then banned due to a bribery scandal. Eastham is a village and an Ward (country subdivision), electoral ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, in Merseyside, England. Historic counties of England, Historically (until 1974), it was part of Cheshire. It is situated on the Wirral Peninsula, to the south of Bromborough and to the east of Willaston, Cheshire West, Willaston. At the United Kingdom Census 2001, 2001 Census, it had a population of 12,250 (5,940 males, 6,310 females), although the total ward population for the town stood at 13,637 (6,562 males, 7,075 females). In 2011 the town's population was not measured separately but a review was carried out for the ward. The total population had risen to 13,882 of which 6,730 were males and 7,152 females. This season was a particularly historic one for domestic football in England, as Tottenham Hotspur became the first club in the twentieth century to "do the Double" by winning both the League and the FA Cup competitions in the same season. Walter Galbraith
Walter McMurray Galbraith (26 May 1918 – November 1995) was a Scottish football player and manager. He played as a defender for Queen's Park, Clyde, New Brighton and Grimsby Town. He then managed Accrington Stanley, Bradford Park Avenue, New Brighton, Tranmere Rovers, Hibernian, Stockport County and Berwick Rangers.Mackay, pp193. Like most players of his generation, Galbraith's league career was delayed by the Second World War, which meant that league football in both England and Scotland was not held from 1939 until the start of the 1946–47 season. Galbraith played for Clyde for two seasons before moving to Merseyside club New Brighton, for which he made over 100 league appearances in three seasons. He then moved to Grimsby Town, where he stayed for two seasons. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world.
