Keith Wilkinson (cricketer)
Keith William Wilkinson (born 15 January 1950) is a former English first-class cricketer who played for Worcestershire County Cricket Club, Worcestershire between 1969 and 1975. After several years in the county's Second XI, Wilkinson made his first-class debut for Worcestershire against Somerset County Cricket Club, Somerset at Clarence Park, Weston-super-Mare, Weston-super-Mare in early August 1969, scoring 1 in his only innings and holding three catches. He also played against Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, Gloucestershire at College Ground, Cheltenham, Cheltenham a few days later, but again did little, scoring 3 not out and 1 in an innings defeat. Wilkinson then returned to the seconds, and it was to be 1971 before he made any further first-team appearances. That summer he played in ten first-class and four List A cricket, List A games. Fenton, Staffordshire
Fenton is one of the six towns that amalgamated with Hanley, Tunstall, Burslem, Longton and Stoke-upon-Trent to form the county borough of Stoke-on-Trent in 1910, later raised to city status in 1925. Old Hill Cricket Club
Old Hill Cricket Club is a cricket club in Cradley Heath, West Midlands, England. History The club was founded in 1884 as Haden Hill Victoria, and has played on the Haden Hill ground in Cradley Heath since founding, having purchased it in 1934. The ground is owned by a Trust and shared with Old Hill Tennis Club. Historically the club was situated in the County of Staffordshire although boundary changes at one time placed it within the ambit of Worcestershire. It is for this reason that there is a joint affiliation with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Cricket Boards. Old Hill joined the Birmingham League in 1920, and first won the league in its second year of membership. The club also won the Division 1 title in 1940, 1960, and 1983. Ian Terence Botham, Baron Botham, (born 24 November 1955) is an English cricket commentator, member of the House of Lords, a former cricketer who has been chairman of Durham County Cricket Club since 2017 and charity fundraiser. Hailed as one of the greatest all-rounders in the history of the game, Botham represented England in both Test and One-Day International cricket. He played most of his first-class cricket for Somerset, at other times competing for Worcestershire, Durham and Queensland. The County Ground, known for sponsorship reasons as Cooper Associates County Ground, and nicknamed Ciderabad, is a cricket ground in Taunton, Somerset. It is the home of Somerset County Cricket Club, who have played there since 1882. The ground, which is located between Priory Bridge Road and St James Street, has a capacity of 8,500. The ground was originally built as part of a sports centre by Taunton Athletic Club in 1881, and became the home of the previously nomadic Somerset County Cricket Club soon after. Having leased the ground for ten years, the club bought the ground in 1896, under the guidance of club secretary Henry Murray-Anderdon. The ground ends are the River End to the north and the Somerset Pavilion End to the south. The NatWest Pro40 League was a one-day cricket league for first-class cricket counties in England and Wales. It was inaugurated in 1999, but was essentially the old Sunday League retitled to reflect large numbers of matches being played on days other than Sunday. Sunday League The Sunday League was launched in 1969, as the second one-day competition in England and Wales alongside the Gillette Cup (launched in 1963). Sponsored by John Player & Sons, the league was called John Player's County League (1969), the John Player League (1970–83), then the John Player Special League (1984–86).
