Keith Johnson (actor)
Keith N. Johnson (born February 19, 1953) is an American actor best known for his performances at the Arena Stage in Washington D.C. and for his small roles in films such as ''Major League II'' and David Mamet's '' Homicide''. On television, he was in several episodes of '' Homicide: Life on the Street'' from 1993 to 1995. Though he was born in Washington, D.C., he spent his childhood in Blythewood, South Carolina. Johnson earned critical acclaim for his performances in the theatrical productions such as ''The Piano Lesson'', ''Fences'', ''Driving Miss Daisy'', and the world premier of Zora Neale Hurston's ''Polk County'' and for his participation in musical plays with such artists as Olu Dara, Diane McIntyre, and Trazana Beverly. He played Willie Brown in the Kennedy Center musical production '' Blues Journey''. Olu Dara Jones (born Charles Jones III, January 12, 1941) is an American cornetist, guitarist, and singer. He is the father of rapper Nas. Early life Olu Dara was born Charles Jones III on January 12, 1941 in Natchez, Mississippi. His mother, Ella Mae Jones, was born in Canton, Mississippi. His father, Charles Jones II, was born in Natchez, was a travelling musician, and sang with The Melodiers, a vocal quartet with a guitarist. As a child, Dara took piano and clarinet lessons. He studied at Tennessee State University, initially a pre-med major, switching to music theory and composition. William Francisco Cobbs (born June 16, 1934) is an American actor. August Wilson
August Wilson ( Frederick August Kittel Jr.; April 27, 1945 – October 2, 2005) was an American playwright. He has been referred to as the "theater's poet of Black America". He is best known for a series of ten plays, collectively called ' (or ''The Century Cycle'')'','' which chronicle the experiences and heritage of the African-American community in the 20th century. Blues is a music genre and musical form which originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1860s.
