Keith F. Davis
Keith F. Davis (born 1952) is an American photography curator, collector, and the author of several books on photography. Between 1979 and 2005, Davis built the Hallmark Photographic Collection, spanning the history of American photography. In December 2005, the collection was donated to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri.c At that time, the collection consisted of 6,500 images by 900 artists, with an estimated market value of $65 million. Since then, Davis has been the Senior Curator of Photography at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Hallmark Photographic Collection
The Hallmark Photographic Collection was amassed by Hallmark Cards, Inc. and donated to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri in December 2005. At the time of donation, the collection consisted of 6,500 images by 900 artists, with an estimated value of $65 million. Nelson-Atkins Museum Of Art
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is an art museum in Kansas City, Missouri, known for its encyclopedic collection of art from nearly every continent and culture, and especially for its extensive collection of Asian art. In 2007, ''Time'' magazine ranked the museum's new Bloch Building number one on its list of "The 10 Best (New and Upcoming) Architectural Marvels" which considered candidates from around the globe. On September 1, 2010, Julián Zugazagoitia (b. 1964) became the museum's fifth Director. Zugazagoitia had previously served for seven years as the Director and CEO of El Museo del Barrio in New York City. Sid Grossman
Sid Grossman (June 25, 1913 in Manhattan – December 31, 1955 in Provincetown) was an American photographer, teacher, and social activist. Life Sid Grossman was the younger son of Morris and Ethel Grossman. He attended the City College of New York and worked on a WPA street crew.Grossman, Sid and Lampell, Millard. Photography is the art, application, and practice of creating durable images by recording light, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film.
