Keith Chatto
Ronald Keith Chatto (1924 – 22 October 1992) was an Australian comic book artist and writer. He was the first Australian illustrator to draw a full-length episode of ''The Phantom'' comic. Biography Keith Chatto was born at Kogarah, New South Wales in 1924, the son of an accountancy clerk. Chatto was educated at Kogarah Primary School, Canterbury High School and Sydney Grammar School. His father, an accountant for ''Smith's Weekly'', showed his son's sketches to the art staff at the magazine, where he was invited by Jim Russell to attend weekly art classes. On leaving school Chatto found work with the art department of Greater Union Theatres then drawing aircraft recognition charts for the Australian Air Training Corps before enlisting with the RAAF. Following his demobilisation in 1946 he had his first comic strip published, ''Destiny Scott'', in the mid-week children's section of the ''Sydney Morning Herald'' on 26 June 1946. State Library Victoria (SLV) is the state library of Victoria, Australia. Located in Melbourne, it was established in 1854 as the Melbourne Public Library, making it Australia's oldest public library and one of the first free libraries in the world. It is also Australia's busiest library and, as of 2018, the world's fourth-most-visited library. Air Hawk And The Flying Doctors
''Air Hawk and the Flying Doctors'' was an Australian comic strip created by John Dixon. The strip began publication on 30 May 1959, premiering in the Saturday issue of Perth's '' Weekend Mail''. It was subsequently published by other Australian Sunday newspapers, Sydney's ''The Sun-Herald'' (14 June 1959), Brisbane's '' The Sunday Mail'' and Adelaide's '' Sunday Mail''. In May 1963, 'Air Hawk' also became a daily strip and unlike most US adventure strips, the Sunday and daily continuity on 'Air Hawk' were separate stories with Dixon writing them both. By 1967 the strip was appearing not only in every Australian state, but also in Britain, New Zealand, South Africa, France, and both North and South America. Dixon continued the strip until 1986. A camera operator, or depending on the context cameraman or camerawoman, is a professional operator of a film camera or video camera as part of a film crew. The term "cameraman" does not imply that a male is performing the task. In filmmaking, the cinematographer or director of photography (DP or DoP) is sometimes called lighting cameraman or first cameraman. The DP may operate the camera themselves, or enlist the aid of a camera operator or second cameraman to operate it or set the controls. The first assistant cameraman (1st AC), also known as a focus puller, is responsible for maintenance of the camera, such as clearing dirt from the film gate and adjusting the follow focus. A second assistant cameraman (2nd AC), also known as a clapper loader, might be employed to load film, slate scenes, or maintain the camera report (a log of scenes, takes, rolls, photographic filters used, and other production data).
