Keira Robinson
Keira Breeanne Robinson (born December 20, 1994) is an American professional basketball player. In 2020 she was named the Icelandic Cup Finals MVP after leading Skallagrímur to its first ever Icelandic Cup win. High school Robinson played attended W. J. Keenan High School in Columbia, South Carolina. During her senior season, she averaged 20.1 points, 5.1 assists and 6.0 steals per game. College career From 2013 to 2017, Robinson played college basketball for the VCU Rams. She was the second player in the schools history to reach 1,000 points, 400 assists and 200 steals. Professional career After playing in Spain and Argentina, Robinson signed with Skallagrímur of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild kvenna in September 2019. She starred during the final-four of the Icelandic Cup, scoring 44 points in the semi-finals against Haukar and 32 points in the finals against KR, leading Skallagrímur to its first ever win in the Cup. The Keflavík women's basketball team, commonly known as Keflavík, is the women's basketball department of Keflavík ÍF (Keflavík, íþrótta- og ungmennafélag), based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. It is Iceland's most successful women's basketball team with 16 national championship. They currently play in Úrvalsdeild kvenna where they won the national championship in 2017. The Breiðablik women's basketball team, commonly known as Breiðablik, is the women's basketball department of the Breiðablik multi-sport club. It is based in Kópavogur, Iceland. As of 2018–2019 season its plays in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild kvenna. History During their first season in the Úrvaldeild in 1994–95, Breiðablik won the national championship after beating Keflavík in the finals. In 2017 the club won promotion from 1. deild kvenna to the Úrvalsdeild. Haiden Palmer
Haiden Denise Palmer (born March 28, 1991 in Moreno Valley, California) is an American former basketball player. She played college basketball for Oregon State and Gonzaga before going on to play professionally. She won the Icelandic championship and Icelandic Cup with Snæfell in 2016 while being named the Foreign Player of the Year, Playoffs MVP and the Cup MVP. She later went on to play in Germany where she won the German Cup in 2018 with TSV 1880 Wasserburg. In 2021, she win the Icelandic Cup again, this time with Haukar. College career Palmer started her college basketball with Oregon State in 2009 and averaged 10.8 points for the 2009–10 season. She left Oregon after the season, along with several of her teammates due to their dissatisfaction with coach LaVonda Wagner, and joined Gonzaga where she redshirted her first year. Valur Women's Basketball
The Valur women's basketball team, commonly known as Valur, is a basketball team based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is part of the Valur multi-sport club. In 2019, it won its first national championship. Recent history Valur played in the 2018 Úrvalsdeild finals, losing to Haukar 2-3. In April 2019, Valur won its first ever national championship when it beat Keflavík in the Úrvalsdeild finals 3-0. The team opened the 2019–20 season by defeating Keflavík, 105-81, in the annual Icelandic Super Cup. It was Valur's first Super Cup win and the victory made them the holders of all four major national crowns, the others being the national championship, the national cup and the league championship which is awarded for the best regular season record in the Úrvalsdeild.
