Keir Mather
Keir Alexander Mather (; born 1998) is a British Labour politician who served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Selby and Ainsty from the 2023 by-election until 30 May 2024. At the time of his election, aged 25, Mather became the Baby of the House. Early life and education Keir Mather was born in 1998 in Kingston upon Hull. He was named after Keir Hardie, the founder of the Labour Party. Mather grew up in Brough, East Riding of Yorkshire. His mother, Jill Tambaros (née Golding), is a supply teacher, and his father, Mick Mather, is a support worker. His father is also a Labour Party activist. Mather was a member of the Youth Parliament, and set up a Labour group for young people in Hull. He was educated "for a short time" at a private prep school, and then at state schools including South Hunsley School in Melton. A preparatory school (or, shortened: prep school) in the United Kingdom is a fee-charging independent primary school that caters for children up to approximately the age of 13. Wesley Paul William Streeting (; born 21 January 1983) is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care since 2021, and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ilford North since 2015. Matthew Francis Parris (born 7 August 1949) is a British political writer and broadcaster, formerly a Conservative Member of Parliament. He was born in South Africa to British parents. Oxford University Labour Club (OULC) was founded in 1919 to promote democratic socialism and is today the home of the Labour Party and of social democracy at Oxford University. New Labour was a period in the history of the British Labour Party from the mid to late 1990s until 2010 under the leadership of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. The name dates from a conference slogan first used by the party in 1994, later seen in a draft manifesto which was published in 1996 and titled ''New Labour, New Life for Britain''. Wadham College
Wadham College () is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. It is located in the centre of Oxford, at the intersection of Broad Street and Parks Road. Wadham College was founded in 1610 by Dorothy Wadham, according to the will of her late husband Nicholas Wadham, a member of an ancient Devon and Somerset family.
