Keilor Football Club
The Keilor Football Club, nicknamed the Blues, is an Australian rules football club located in Keilor, Victoria, north west of Melbourne. The club originated in 1877, formed at a general meeting at the Waggoner's Arms Hotel. In 1926, the club became a founding member of the Keilor and Broadmeadows Football League, winning premierships in 1926 and 1928. Since 1932, the club has competed in the Essendon District Football League and today fields teams in the Premier Division (seniors), Reserves Premier Division and Women's Premier Division, as well as a number of junior squads. The club's home games are held at the Keilor Recreation Reserve, which also houses the club's administrative headquarters and is the base for the Keilor Cricket Club. Essendon District Football League
The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is a professional Australian rules football league competition based in Essendon, Victoria, consisting of teams based in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. Founded in 1930, the men's competition consists of three leagues: Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2, with 10 clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 nine in Division 2. Promotion and relegation between these divisions occurs, with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 being relegated at the end of each season. Clubs which win the Division 1 and Division 2 premierships are automatically promoted. Each men's team also fields a reserves side and an under-19 side that play a fixture mirroring that of the senior side. Since 2017, the League has also run a competition for women's Australian rules football. Dean Galea
Dean Galea (born 11 January 1985) is an Australian Football player. He won the Jim 'Frosty' Miller Medal as the leading goal-kicker in the Victorian Football League in 2012 and 2013, kicking 65 and 55 goals in the respective home and away seasons, when he played with Port Melbourne. Galea, in his first year of senior football, played for Spotswood in the WRFL, and won the Premier division goalkicking award with 82 goals in 2004. Galea then moved to play with Williamstown Football Club for 2005 and 2006. He played in a Seconds premiership with Williamstown in 2005 and finished in equal third place in the Seconds best and fairest award that same year. Paul Ahern (born 1 August 1996) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Greater Western Sydney Giants and the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was originally drafted by the Greater Western Sydney Giants with their third selection and seventh overall in the 2014 national draft. After failing to play a senior match in his two seasons with the Giants due to a number of injuries including two knee reconstructions, he was traded to North Melbourne during the 2016 trade period. Jayden Laverde ( ; born 12 April 1996) is a professional Australian rules footballer with the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited with the 20th overall selection in the 2014 national draft. Corey Ellis (born 9 October 1996) is a former professional Australian rules football player for the Gold Coast Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played 27 matches over four years at after being drafted there with the 12th overall pick in the 2014 AFL National Draft. Early life and junior football Ellis played junior football at Keilor in the Essendon District Football League. Michael Rischitelli (born 8 January 1986) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Gold Coast Suns in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Brisbane Lions. Rick Olarenshaw (born 1 February 1973) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. He was formerly a boundary rider for Network Seven until being replaced by Matthew Richardson. Playing career Essendon Olarenshaw was recruited from Keilor in 1990 to the Essendon Football Club, where he won the under-19s best and fairest in 1991. Mark Harvey
Mark Harvey (born 11 June 1965) is a former Australian rules football player and coach. He played over 200 games during fourteen seasons with the Essendon Football Club, winning three premierships, and was senior coach of Fremantle from 2007 to 2011.
