Keiichi Sigsawa
is a Japanese light novel author. In 2000, his work ''Kino's Journey'' was a finalist for the 6th Dengeki Novel Prize, and was subsequently serialized in '' Dengeki hp'' magazine in March of the same year, marking his debut. ''Kino's Journey'' proved popular, and has continued in serialization (as well as collected bunko releases) since that time. The author's name, a pen name, was derived from SIG Sauer, a firearms manufacturer, and "a manga hero", definitely Keiichi Morisato from ''Oh My Goddess!'', according to the afterword in the second volume of '' Gakuen Kino''. He loves to travel, ride his motorcycle, and is a self-professed "gun maniac". He mentions ''Galaxy Express 999'' and the works of Hayao Miyazaki as some of his primary influences. is a Japanese manga series. It is written and illustrated by Leiji Matsumoto, later adapted into a number of anime films and television series. It is set in a spacefaring, high-tech future in which humans have learned how to transfer their minds and emotions with perfect fidelity into mechanical bodies, thus achieving practical immortality. The manga won the Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen in 1978. The anime series won the Animage Anime Grand Prix prize in 1981. Matsumoto was inspired to create ''Galaxy Express 999'' by the idea of a steam train running through the stars in the novel ''Night on the Galactic Railroad'' by Kenji Miyazawa. is a Japanese light novel adventure series written by Keiichi Sigsawa, with illustrations by Kohaku Kuroboshi starring Meg, a supporting character from '' Lillia and Treize''. The first novel was released on March 10, 2008, published by MediaWorks under their ''Dengeki Bunko'' label. ''Kino's Journey'' is a Japanese light novel series written by Keiichi Sigsawa, and illustrated by Kohaku Kuroboshi. The series premiered in the sixth volume of '' Dengeki hp'' on March 17, 2000. The first volume of the series was published on July 10, 2000 under ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko publishing imprint. As of October 2017, around 8.2 million copies of the novels had been sold in Japan. 23 volumes have been published as of November 2020. Tokyopop licensed the novels for an English language release in North America. The first volume was published on October 3, 2006. Tokyopop released the series under its rōmaji title of ''Kino no Tabi'' and rearranged the chapters of the first volume. Due to issues with the licensor, the remaining volumes have been canceled.
