Keflavík Women's Basketball
The Keflavík women's basketball team, commonly known as Keflavík, is the women's basketball department of Keflavík ÍF (Keflavík, íþrótta- og ungmennafélag), based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. It is Iceland's most successful women's basketball team with 16 national championship. They currently play in Úrvalsdeild kvenna where they won the national championship in 2017. The club has won the Icelandic Basketball Cup a record fifteen times, including in 2017 and 2018. Arena Keflavík plays its home games at the TM Arena, commonly nicknamed "The Slaughterhouse". Anna María Sveinsdóttir
Anna María Sveinsdóttir (born 22 November 1969) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach. She won twelve Icelandic championships and eleven Icelandic basketball cups, and is regarded as one of the best women's players in Icelandic basketball history. She was the first player to break the 5000 points barrier in Úrvalsdeild kvenna and finished her career as its all-time leading scorer with 5001 points in 324 games. The scoring record stood until 23 April 2013, when it was broken by Birna Valgarðsdóttir. In 2001 she was voted the Icelandic female basketball player of the century and as one of the twelve players on the team of the 20th century. 2020–21 Úrvalsdeild Kvenna (basketball)
The 2020–21 Úrvalsdeild kvenna is the 64th season of the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, the top tier women's basketball league on Iceland. The season started on 23 September 2020. On 7 October, the Icelandic Basketball Association postponed the season for two weeks do to another Coronavirus outbreak in Iceland. It concluded on 2 June 2021 with Valur winning their second title after beating Haukar 3–0 in the Úrvalsdeild finals. Competition format The participating teams first play a conventional round-robin schedule with every team playing each opponent twice "home" and twice "away" for a total of 28 games. The top four teams qualify for the championship playoffs whilst the bottom team will be relegated to 1. deild kvenna. Daniela Wallen
Daniela Wallen Morillo (born 4 April 1995) is a Venezuelan basketball player for Keflavík of the Úrvalsdeild kvenna and the Venezuela national team. She played college basketball for Northwest Florida State College and Oklahoma City University and won the NAIA championship with the later in 2017. Following her college career, she has played professionally in three continents. In 2018, she won the Paraguayan League championship with Sol de América Asunción and the following year she won the Finnish championship as a member of Peli-Karhut. Brittanny Dinkins
Brittanny Dinkins (born March 8, 1994, in Miami, Florida) is an American professional basketball player. She played college basketball for Southern Mississippi where she was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Tournament Team in 2017. Following her college career, she went on to play professionally in Iceland where she was named the Icelandic Cup MVP in 2018 and the Úrvalsdeild Foreign Player of the Year in 2019. Ariana Moorer (born February 9, 1991) is an American basketball player. In 2017, she won the Icelandic championship and the Icelandic Cup while being named the Úrvalsdeild Foreign Player of the Year, Úrvalsdeild Playoffs MVP and the Icelandic Cup Finals MVP. Andrea Olga Færseth (born 23 May 1975) is an Icelandic former multi-sport athlete. She was a member of the Icelandic national teams in both football and basketball. In 1994, Olga won the national championship and national cup in both football and basketball. Pálína María Gunnlaugsdóttir (born 2 January 1987) is an Icelandic sport TV host, basketball coach and a former player.
