Keep Sydney Open (KSO) was an organisation and political party based in Sydney, Australia, that advocated for issues surrounding the city's nightlife and night-time economy. The group is best known for its opposition to the Sydney lockout laws. It was renamed to The Open Party in 2020. The party's registration was later utilized in 2022 by Elizabeth Farrelly, who formed Elizabeth Farrelly Independents to compete in elections. History and beliefs According to its website, Keep Sydney Open was founded by "a variety of key Sydney live music and performance venues, cultural organisations, artists and music industry stakeholders" in response to the "lockout regime" that was implemented by the Barry O'Farrell government in February 2014. Royal Headache
Royal Headache was an Australian punk rock and garage band from Sydney. The band was formed in 2008 and was composed of Tim "Shogun" Wall (vocals), Lawrence "Law" Hall (guitar), Joseph "Joe" Sukit (bass), Chris "Shortty" Shortt (drums) and Gabrielle de Giorgio (keyboards, organ, percussion, vocals). The band released two albums, ''Royal Headache'' (2011) and ''High (Royal Headache album), High'' (2015), both of which earned critical acclaim, and toured the US and Europe. 2019 New South Wales State Election
The 2019 New South Wales state election was held on Saturday 23 March 2019 to elect the 57th Parliament of New South Wales, including all 93 seats in the Legislative Assembly and 21 of the 42 seats in the Legislative Council. The election was conducted by the New South Wales Electoral Commission (NSWEC). The two-term incumbent Liberal/National Coalition Government led by Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Deputy Premier John Barilaro was re-elected to a third four-year term with a reduced majority in the Legislative Assembly, where government is formed. Thundamentals are an Australian hip hop group originating from the Blue Mountains region bordering the metropolitan area of Sydney. The members are currently Tuka, Jeswon, and Morgs. They have released five studio albums. History Band origins: 2008–2010 Before becoming Thundamentals, the band consisted of DJ Morgs, Tommy Fiasko, MC Jeswon, MC Tuksnatch, MC Ruthless and DJ Clockwork, and was called Connect 4. Today, the band consists of DJ Morgs (Morgan Jones), MC Jeswon (Jesse Ferris), MC Tuka (Brendan Tuckerman) and DJ Poncho (Kevin Kerr). Hermitude is an Australian electronic- hip hop duo, originating from the Blue Mountains, New South Wales. Biography Early years and ''Explanetary'' Multi-instrumentalists, Luke Dubber (a.k.a. Luke Dubs) and Angus Stuart (a.k.a. El Gusto), have collaborated in bands since 1994, when they were aged 16 and 11, respectively. Their first functional band was called "Funk Injections" and included Stuart's sister, Aja Stuart, on bass. When a group of local rappers, including Tim Levinson (a.k.a. Urthboy) from the Herd, were impressed by Funk Injections' abilities, the two groups briefly incorporated in 1998, performing for a while under the name "Explanetary". Dappled Cities (formerly "Dappled Cities Fly") are an indie rock band from Sydney, Australia. History 1997–2003 The band came together as teenagers in the northern suburbs of Sydney in 1997. Dave Rennick and original drummer Hugh Boyce were joined by Alex Moore on bass and Tim Derricourt on guitar. Keyboards were added occasionally by Mark Bradshaw, and after 2006 more regularly by Ned Cooke. The band started out playing at all-ages shows and charity benefits before they reached legal age to play in the licensed venues in the Sydney CBD. They performed at the Hopetoun Hotel (now defunct), the Excelsior and The Bat and Ball.
