Kearton Coates
Kearton Coates (May 13, 1820 – April 16, 1893) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Biography Coates was born on May 13, 1820, in Gunnerside, England. He moved to Platteville, Wisconsin, in 1842 and to Linden, Wisconsin, in 1844. He and his wife had 15 children. Coates died on April 16, 1893, and is buried in Edmund, Wisconsin. Career Coates became a member of the Assembly in 1875. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. Gunnerside is a village in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the B6270 road, east of Muker and west of Grinton. The village lies between the River Swale and its tributary, Gunnerside Beck, in the Swaledale part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
