Kazumasa Hirai (author)
was a Japanese novelist and science fiction writer from Yokosuka, Kanagawa. He graduated from Yokosuka Industrial High School and the law department of Chuo University. Hirai is well known for his SF-manga work. He is the creator of 8 Man (aka '' 8th Man'' in the USA) and was well known as the story creator of the 1960s manga series "Genma Taisen" (''Genma Wars'') about a hero with psychokinetic powers and his battle against a space villain called Genma. Ryoichi Ikegami
is a Japanese manga artist that usually works as the illustrator in collaboration with a writer. He is best known for ''Crying Freeman'' (1986–1988), written by Kazuo Koike, and ''Heat'' (1999–2004), written by Buronson. The latter won the 2001 Shogakukan Manga Award for general manga. Hisashi Sakaguchi
Hisashi Sakaguchi (, ''Sakaguchi Hisashi''; – December 22, 1995) was a Japanese manga artist and animator. After working under Osamu Tezuka, he began focusing on creating his own manga, including the Ikkyū biography series ''Ikkyū'', before dying at the age of 49. Life and work At age seventeen, Sakaguchi dropped out of school to work for Osamu Tezuka's animation studio, Mushi Production. Serving as an assistant animator, he worked on the productions for ''Ambassador Atom'', ''Kimba the White Lion'', and ''Princess Knight''. Sakaguchi also collaborated with Tezuka on the original manga ''Cleopatra'', which was later adapted into the 1970 anime film of the same name. Shotaro Ishinomori
was a Japanese manga artist who became an influential figure in manga, anime, and , creating several immensely popular long-running series such as ''Cyborg 009,'' the ''Super Sentai'' series (later adapted into the ''Power Rangers'' series), and the ''Kamen Rider'' series. He was twice awarded by the Shogakukan Manga Awards, in 1968 for ''Sabu to Ichi Torimono Hikae'' and in 1988 for ''Hotel'' and ''Manga Nihon Keizai Nyumon''. He was born as in Tome, Miyagi, and was also known as prior to 1986, when he changed his family name to Ishinomori by adding the character in katakana.
