Kazlıçeşme Railway Station
Kazlıçeşme railway station ( tr, Kazlıçeşme istasyonu) is a railway station in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul and the current terminus of the trans-Bosporus Marmaray commuter rail line. Located just outside of the city's historic walled center, Kazlıçeşme station sits between 10. Yıl Avenue and Zakirbaşı Street. The station is west of Sirkeci station. History Kazlıçeşme station was opened on 4 December 1955 by the Turkish State Railways as a stop on the Istanbul suburban line. The original station consisted of an island platform with two tracks, located above Zakirbaşı Street about west of the contemporary station. Kazlıçeşme was chosen as the western portal of the Marmaray tunnel and the construction of a new station started in 2011. The new station had the same platform design, but added a third track for passing intercity and regional trains. Istanbulkart
Istanbulkart is a contactless smart card for fare payment on public transport in Istanbul, Turkey. It was introduced on March 23, 2009 in addition to the Akbil, an integrated electronic ticket system which was eventually phased out in 2015. The card was developed and put into practice by the information technology company Belbim of the Metropolitan Municipality. The Istanbulkart is valid for boarding buses, funiculars, LRT, subway, commuter trains, ferryboats and trams operated by the Metropolitan Municipality and private companies. Cash payment on these transport systems is not possible. Reduced fees are applicable for up to five transfers within two hours to other vehicles on the transportation network. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. Zeytinburnu station ( tr, Zeytinburnu istasyonu) is an under construction station in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul. The new platform will replace the 62 year old station opened in 1955. Kadıköy (), known in classical antiquity and during the Roman and Byzantine eras as Chalcedon ( gr, Χαλκηδών), is a large, populous, and cosmopolitan district in the Asian side of Istanbul, Turkey, on the northern shore of the Sea of Marmara. Ayrılıkçeşmesi is a quarter in Kadıköy district of Istanbul, Turkey. Due to its settlement type, its borders are not well defined, however the locality lies mostly within the neighborhood of Rasimpaşa. Overview The quarter takes its name from the fountain, which was built by an Ottoman Empire, Ottoman court servant in the 16th century and restored in the 18th century. "Ayrılıkçeşmesi" means in Turkish language literally "Farewell Fountain". Istanbul Suburban
The Istanbul suburban railway, locally referred to as B1 ( tr, İstanbul Banliyösü), was an important rail line in İstanbul, Turkey. It was operated by the Turkish State Railways and was one of Istanbul's two commuter rail lines (the other being the Haydarpaşa suburban). Carrying an average of 22,200 passengers daily, it was the second-busiest commuter railway in Turkey, after the Haydarpaşa suburban. The İstanbul Commuter Railway is a historical line, being the first rail line to be electrified and being the first commuter railway in Turkey. Sirkeci railway station ( tr, Sirkeci garı), listed on maps as Istanbul railway station ( tr, İstanbul garı), is a railway terminal in Istanbul, Turkey. The terminal is located in Sirkeci, on the tip of Istanbul's historic peninsula, right next to the Golden Horn and just northwest of Gülhane Park and the Topkapı Palace.
