The National Basketball Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the governing body of the sport of basketball in Kazakhstan. It organises the Kazakhstan Basketball Championship and the Kazakhstan Basketball Cup. Since February 2017, Dimash Dossanov serves as president of the organization. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular Basketball court, court, compete with the primary objective of #Shooting, shooting a basketball (ball), basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a Backboard (basketball), backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop.
