Kayserispor
Kayseri Spor Kulübü, commonly known as Kayserispor, is a Turkish professional football club based in Kayseri. They play their home matches at the Kadir Has Stadium in red and yellow kits. The team has won one Turkish Cup in 2008 and also finished as Turkish Super Cup runners-up in the same year. They finished fifth in the Turkish Super League four times, in 2005–06, 2006–07, 2007–08, and 2012–13. Internationally, Kayserispor was one of the co-winners of the 2006 Intertoto Cup. History Erciyesspor, which was Kayserispor's predecessor, was founded as Erciyesspor with red-white colours. In 1937, Erciyesspor merged with Yılmazspor and changed their colours to yellow-red. Kayseri Erciyesspor
Kayseri Erciyesspor was a Turkish sports club based in Kayseri. History In 1965, Orhan Şefik Apak, then president of the Turkish Football Federation, asked cities in Turkey to combine their amateur football clubs into one singular club that would represent their communities. These new clubs would compete in the newly created 2.Lig (Second Division). After several meetings, representatives of the city merged Erciyesspor, Sanayispor, and Ortaanadoluspor to form Kayserispor. The club submitted the required paperwork and were officially founded as Kayserispor on 1 July 1966. They began competing in the 1966–67 2.Lig. Erdoğan Gürhan was the first manager, signing a contract worth 1,500 TL. In their first season, the club competed in the Beyaz Grup (White Group). 2007–08 Süper Lig
The 2007–08 Süper Lig season, (also known as the Turkcell Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons), was the 50th anniversary of top-flight professional football in Turkey. It was won by Galatasaray, who won their 17th championship. Since Turkey had climbed from 15th to 14th position in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2006–07 season, and UEFA Champions League-bound Zenit Saint Petersburg won the 2007–08 UEFA Cup, the domestic cup winner, Kayserispor, which had qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2008–09 UEFA Cup, was promoted to the first round, filling the unused title holder spot. Mehmet Topuz (born 7 September 1983) is a former Turkey, Turkish football (soccer), footballer, who last played for Fenerbahçe S.K. (football team), Fenerbahçe. Club career Topuz had begun his career in Yolspor, a local club located in Kayseri. He joined Kayserispor in 2000. Hikmet Karaman
Hikmet Karaman (born March 9, 1960) is a Uefa Pro Licensed Turkish football manager. He most recently managed Kayserispor. In the beginning of his coaching career, Hikmet Karaman worked as an assistant coach for managers like Reinhard Saftig and Mustafa Denizli in Galatasaray and Kocaelispor, as well as Holger Osieck in both Kocaelispor and Fenerbahçe. As a head coach he previously worked for clubs, such as, Kocaelispor, Zeytinburnuspor, Erzurumspor, Çaykur Rizespor, Adanaspor, Kayserispor, MKE Ankaragücü, Ankaraspor, Antalyaspor, Manisaspor, and Gaziantepspor, respectively. 2012–13 Süper Lig
The 2012–13 Süper Lig (known as the ''Spor Toto Süper Lig'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 55th season of the Süper Lig, the highest football league of Turkey. Galatasaray are the defending champions. The season began on 17 August 2012 and ended on 19 May 2013. On 5 May, Galatasaray won a record 19th Turkish title after beating Sivasspor 4–2. 2008 Turkish Cup Final
The 2008 Turkish Cup Final was a football match between Gençlerbirliği and Kayserispor and the final of the 2007–08 Turkish Cup. Kayserispor won 11–10 on penalties. Gençlerbirliği Gençlerbirliği started the tournament in the second qualifying round. They beat Akçaabat Sebatspor 4-1, and proceeded to the group stage. Gençlerbirliği was put in Group B with Adana Demirspor, Trabzonspor, Manisaspor and Kırıkkalespor. Gençlerbirliği finished 1st and continued to the Quarter-finals. 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup
The 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup was the first edition after a major change of the competition format. There were only three rounds instead of five, and eleven tournament co-winners qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup (instead of three teams qualifying for the first round proper). Ali Turan
Ali Turan (born 6 September 1983) is a Turkish footballer who most recently played for Konyaspor. Club career Turan began his professional career with Kayserispor, and went on loan to Kayseri Erciyesspor during the 2006–07 Super Lig season. He was one of the young players of Kayserispor whom former coach Ertuğrul Sağlam trusted and gave the opportunity to play past seasons. He's regarded as a promising center back. From next season Turan would be playing for Galatasaray as he has signed a pre-contract. The 2005–06 Süper Lig season began with Turkcell signing a 5-year sponsorship deal with the Turkish Football Federation to name the league Turkcell Süper Lig. Since Turkey dropped from tenth to eleventh place in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2004–05 season, the champions will not directly be entered into the group stage of the UEFA Champions League any more, but rather have to begin in the third qualification round. The season also saw a first in Turkish football; for the first time in history the team that entered the last week first, Fenerbahçe, failed to win the title. The season began on 4 August 2006 with a match between Ankaraspor and Galatasaray, resulting in a 1–1 draw. Fenerbahçe became champions after drawing Trabzonspor 2–2, while Beşiktaş lost 3–0 to Bursaspor and Galatasaray drew 1–1 with Sivasspor. Çağdaş Atan (; born 29 February 1980) is a Turkish football manager and a former player who played as a central defender. He is the manager of Kayserispor of the Turkish Super League. Club career Atan began his career with Altay SK before moving to Marmaris Belediye G.S.K., where he signed his first professional contract, in 2000. Ragıp Başdağ (born June 9, 1978 in Trabzon, Turkey) is a Turkish footballer. During the 2002-03 season, Ragip was suspended from football for six months after having failed a doping test.
