Kay Moran
Kay Moran (born 5 October 1973) is a female Scottish international lawn and indoor bowler. Bowls career She won a silver medal in the pairs with Joyce Lindores at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. In 2005 she won the singles gold medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships and in 2007 she won the pairs gold medal at the Atlantic Championships. In 2018 she was selected as part of the Scottish team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland that won a silver medal in the Triples with Caroline Brown and Stacey McDougall. Originally from Crookston, Glasgow she now lives in Shell Cove, New South Wales, Australia and plays for the Cabramatta Bowls Club and has won several prestigious Australian titles including the Australian Open and the Australian National Bowls Championships fours. Stacey McDougall (born 10 April 1990) is a Scottish international lawn and Indoor bowler. Profile McDougall lives in Woodburn, Dalkeith and plays for the Dalkeith BC (Outdoor) and Midlothian BC (Indoor). She started bowling in 1999 and works for the Royal Bank of Scotland. Bowls career McDougall made her senior international debut in 2012 (indoors) and 2013 (outdoors) and has won two senior National titles. In 2015 she won the fours gold medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships and represented Scotland at the 2016 World Outdoor Bowls Championship – Women's Fours. 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship
The 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was to be the 14th edition of the World Championships to be held at the Broadbeach Bowls Club, Musgrave Hill Bowls Club and Club Helensvale on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. There were to be eight events that determined the 2021 world champions, the men's singles, doubles, triples and fours and the women's singles, doubles, triples and fours and in addition there are two overall team winners who receive the Leonard and Taylor trophies respectively. It was originally scheduled from 23 May to 7 June 2020 but the event was officially cancelled on 9 March 2021. Postponement The event followed suit of other sporting events around the world in early 2020, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak wreaking havoc across the sporting industry. Australian National Bowls Championships
The Australian National Bowls Championships and the Australian Open are organised by Bowls Australia. Bowls dates back to 1845 in Australia but it was not until 1910, during the 1910 Carnival of bowls that South Australia proposed the formation of the Australian Bowling Council (consisting of the six states) which duly formed the following year in 1911. The first National Singles Championships were held in 1913, with each state holding the Championships in turn. The Championships were also known as the Carnival at one stage. The Championships were not held for a twelve year period from 2005 until 2016 when the Australian Open effectively replaced the National Championships.
