Kavita Lorenz
Kavita Lorenz (born 5 September 1995) is a German former competitive ice dancer. With her skating partner, Joti Polizoakis, she is a three-time German national champion (2016–2018) and has competed in the final segment at four ISU Championships. Personal life Lorenz was born on 5 September 1995 in Berlin. Career Lorenz began learning to skate in 2000. As a single skater, she was coached by Michael Huth in Oberstdorf. She placed 9th at the 2010 German Junior Championships and 11th at the 2011 German Championships. In 2012, Lorenz teamed up with Ukraine's Yevhen Kholoniuk to compete in ice dancing. Short Dance
The short dance (SD) was the first segment of an ice dancing competition from the 2010–2011 to the 2017–2018 seasons. It was approved in June 2010 by the International Skating Union (ISU). It merged the original dance (OD) and compulsory dance (CD), which were both discontinued. The ISU renamed the short dance to the rhythm dance (RD) in 2018. The SD was composed of two parts: the pattern dance (formerly known as the compulsory dance), which lasted about one minute and could be placed anywhere in the SD, and the creative section, which took up most of the SD. The pattern dance changed each year, and was announced beforehand by the ISU. The ISU also published yearly rule changes. Ice dancers were expected to perform five required elements in their SD: two segments of the pattern dance, one short lift, a step sequence, and a set of twizzles. The 2016 European Figure Skating Championships were held 25–31 January 2016 in Bratislava, Slovakia. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dancing. Tim Dieck (born 7 April 1996) is a German competitive ice dancer. With his former skating partner Katharina Müller, he is a two-time German national champion and has won many senior international medals, including two silver medals on the ISU Challenger Series and three gold medals at the German NRW Trophy. They have represented Germany at the European and World championships. In December 2022, it was announced that Dieck had teamed up with British-Spanish ice dancer Olivia Smart. Personal life Tim Dieck was born on 7 April 1996 in Dortmund, Germany. His parents, Martina and Frieder, are involved in figure skating as a coach and judge, respectively, and his sister, Dominique, formerly competed in ice dancing.
