Vincent Belorgey (born 31 July 1975), known professionally as Kavinsky, is a French musician, producer, DJ, and actor. His production style is reminiscent of the electropop film soundtracks of the 1980s. Kavinsky claims that his music is inspired by thousands of movies he watched as a young boy and that he has cherry-picked the best parts from them, consolidating them into one concept. Kavinsky has been compared to many similar French house artists, including Daft Punk and Danger. He achieved greater mainstream recognition after his song " Nightcall" was featured in the 2011 film ''Drive''. His debut studio album, ''OutRun'', was released in 2013. The concept behind ''OutRun'' follows Kavinsky's backstory of a young man who crashed his Testarossa in 1986 and reappeared in 2006 as a zombie who produces electronic music. Kavinsky cites influences from 1980s video games, Police procedural, television cop shows such as ''Miami Vice'', and the films of Dario Argento. ''Reborn'' is the second studio album by French electronic musician Kavinsky, released on 25 March 2022 by Record Makers through Virgin France. Co-produced alongside Gaspard Augé and Victor le Masne, it includes collaborations with Romuald, Cautious Clay, Sébastien Tellier, Kareen Lomax, Prudence and Morgan Phalen. The album was preceded by the singles "Renegade" and "Zenith". Critical reception On Metacritic, the album received an aggregate score of 76 out of 100 from five reviews, indicating "generally favorable" reception. "Nightcall" is a song by French electro house artist Kavinsky, released as a single in 2010. It was produced with Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and mixed by electronic artist Sebastian. It features Lovefoxxx, lead singer of Brazilian band CSS, on vocals and includes remixes by Xavier de Rosnay, Jackson and his Computer Band and Breakbot. The track was used in the title sequence for the film ''Drive'', directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan. "Nightcall" was included on Kavinsky's debut studio album, ''OutRun'' (2013). Synthwave (also called outrun, retrowave, or futuresynth) is an electronic music microgenre that is based predominantly on the music associated with action, science-fiction, and horror film soundtracks of the 1980s. Other influences are drawn from the decade's art and video games. Synthwave musicians often espouse nostalgia for 1980s culture and attempt to capture the era's atmosphere and celebrate it. The Ferrari Testarossa (Type F110) is a 12-cylinder mid-engine sports car manufactured by Ferrari, which went into production in 1984 as the successor to the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer. The Pininfarina-designed car was originally produced from 1984 until 1991, with two model revisions following the end of Testarossa production called the 512 TR and F512 M, which were produced from 1992 until 1996. Gaspard Augé (; born 21 May 1979 in Besançon) is a French musician and graphic designer. He is one of the two members of French electronic music duo Justice. Biography Augé was born into a family of Protestant industrialists from Besançon, France. He is the nephew of André Marcel Augé, whose father André Augé founded Augé Découpage, a metallurgy company now owned by Diehl Metall. He created his first musical project with his cousin Théo Vuarnet called ''Microloisir'' (Back in your Eyes), recorded in his home with a computer microphone and an Ableton sequencer. He later became a retro-futurist graphic designer, under the pseudonym, Gaspirator, and designed shirts for Sixpack France, one of which was worn by M.
