Kavi Gupta
Kavi Gupta is a contemporary art gallery owned by gallerist Kavi Gupta. Headquartered in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago, the gallery operates multiple exhibition spaces as well as Kavi Gupta Editions, a publishing imprint and bookstore. Kavi Gupta opened in Chicago in 2000. The gallery expanded to a second space in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg borough of Berlin in 2008. In September 2013 the gallery expanded to a third space in Chicago. The new space opened with an installation exhibition by Roxy Paine titled ''Apparatus''. Whitney Biennial
The Whitney Biennial is a biennial exhibition of contemporary American art, typically by young and lesser known artists, on display at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City, United States. The event began as an annual exhibition in 1932; the first biennial was in 1973. The Whitney show is generally regarded as one of the leading shows in the art world, often setting or leading trends in contemporary art. The Armory Show
The Armory Show is an international art fair in New York City, known as New York's Art Fair. James Little (born 1952) is an American painter and curator. He is known for his works of geometric abstraction which are often imbued with exuberant color. He has been based in New York City. Early life and education Little was born in 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee, and grew up in the segregated American South. He is from an African American family. Glenn Akira Kaino (born 1972 in Los Angeles) is an American conceptual artist based in Los Angeles. Early life, education and artistic training Kaino grew up in Cerritos and East Los Angeles; he is fourth-generation Japanese-American. Roger Brown (December 10, 1941 – November 22, 1997) was an American artist and painter. Often associated with the Chicago Imagist groups, he was internationally known for his distinctive painting style and shrewd social commentaries on politics, religion, and art. Early life Roger Brown was born on December 10, 1941, and raised in Hamilton and Opelika, Alabama. He was described in his formative years as a creative child, an inclination his parents are said to have encouraged. Brown took art classes from second to ninth grade, and won first prize in a statewide poster competition in tenth grade. After high school Brown left the South.
