Kavanagh is a hamlet in Alberta, Canada within Leduc County. It is located on Highway 2A between Millet and Leduc, approximately south of Edmonton. The hamlet was settled by workers of the Kavanagh block of the Canadian National Railway and was named for Charles Edmund Kavanagh, railway superintendent. The grain elevators have since closed and been relocated. Kavanagh was declared a hamlet on January 5, 1980 by Marvin E. Moore, Minister of Municipal Affairs. Kavanaq ( fa, کوانق, also Romanized as Kavānaq; also known as Kavānagh, Kavānd, Kavānī, Kavānīq, Kevāni, and Kevany) is a village in Dizmar-e Sharqi Rural District, Minjavan District, Khoda Afarin County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 81, in 21 families. According to more recent statistics the population is 94 people in 22 families. Economy The village is a renowned center of pomegranate and grape production in the Arasbaran region. These produces have a characteristic potential of being preserved for over six months without requiring refrigeration. The Kavanagh Building () is a famed skyscraper in Retiro, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Designed in 1934 by architects Gregorio Sánchez, Ernesto Lagos and Luis María de la Torre, it is considered a pinnacle of modernist architecture. At the time of its inauguration in 1936, the Kavanagh was the tallest building in Latin America surpassing the Palacio Salvo built in Montevideo in 1928, as well as the tallest building in the world with a reinforced concrete structure. It is considered one of the quintessential buildings of Buenos Aires. Kavanaugh Field
Kavanaugh Field was a minor league baseball park in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was the home of the Little Rock Travelers prior to their move to Travelers Field in 1932. The ballpark opened in 1901, as West End Park. In 1915 it was renamed for former team owner and Southern Association president William M. Kavanaugh, after he had died from a sudden illness in February 1915. West End Park was the spring training site for the Boston Red Sox in 1907 (when they were known as the Boston Americans) and 1908. As part of vacating the ballpark after 1931, the property was sold to nearby Little Rock Central High School. The field was converted to football specifications and was renamed Quigley Stadium. The field is west of the school (the eastern boundary of which is Park Street) and the school's baseball field. The other boundaries are West Daisy L.
