Kauko Armas Nieminen
Kauko Armas Nieminen (15 February 1929 – 2010) was a Finnish self-taught physicist. Nieminen was born in Kuopio, Finland. Although he was most known for his works in physics, he did not have any academic training or degree in physics, but was entirely self-taught. He had a bachelor's degree in law from the University of Helsinki. Nieminen's research and theories in physics were unusual. The basis of his work was the theory of "ether vortices". In principle, the theory claimed that the universe is filled with Luminiferous aether, ether, and as the ends of the ether come close to each other vortex, vortices appear. The center of a vortex is an elementary particle. Nieminen claimed his theories can explain gravity, Quantum mechanics, quantum phenomena, ball lightnings and the creation of the world. Kauko Tapio Nieminen (born 29 August 1979, in Seinäjoki) is a Finnish former speedway rider who raced for several teams in the UK, Sweden, and Poland, and as part of the Finland national speedway team. Career summary Nieminen started his United Kingdom career with the Workington Comets in 2002 and was with them every season until 2008 except for 2006, when he rode for the Glasgow Tigers. In 2004, he was part of the Workington four that won the Premier League Four-Team Championship, which was held on 21 August 2004, at the Derwent Park. In 2006, he represented Finland in the 2006 Speedway World Cup. Nieminen was known by both Workington and Glasgow fans as 'The Flyin Finn' because of his racing style, which produces some high speed passing. In the 2007 season, Nieminen returned to the Workington Comets, this time as captain, and also rode for Solkatterna in Sweden and TŻ Lublin in Poland. Kauko Röyhkä, (born Jukka-Pekka Välimaa, 12 February 1959, Valkeakoski), is a Finnish rock musician and author. Since the early 1980s he has been a popular rock artist in Finland known especially as a strong lyricist. Röyhkä lived his youth in Oulu and has later lived in Turku and Helsinki. His recording career began in 1980 with the debut album ''Steppaillen''. To date he has recorded 23 full-length albums. His most famous backing band has been Narttu ("Bitch"), that was together in various line-ups throughout the years 1980–1990. Röyhkä has also had many side projects, including a band called 500 kg lihaa ("500 kg of Meat"). In 2007 Röyhkä performed his songs with the Mikkeli town string orchestra. Röyhkä has studied literature and has been praised for his lyrics, especially during the late 1980s.
