Katy Olson
Catherina "Katy" Gaalswyk Olson (October 24, 1928 – August 14, 2011) was a Minnesota politician and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from southwestern Minnesota. Service in the Minnesota House Olson was first elected in 1986 in the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party's "firestorm" that swept through the region. The election gave Democrats unprecedented control of southwestern Minnesota for the next several election cycles. She was re-elected in 1988, 1990, and 1992. She represented the old District 28B and, later, District 22B, which included all or portions of Cottonwood, Jackson, Martin, Redwood, Watonwan , and Brown counties, changing somewhat through redistricting in 1990. Elaine Harder
Elaine Rupp Harder (December 27, 1947 – September 24, 2013) was an American politician and businesswoman. She served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1995 until 2004 as a member of the Republican Party (United States), Republican Party. Redwood County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census the population was 15,425. Its county seat is Redwood Falls, along the Redwood River near its confluence with the Minnesota River. The Lower Sioux Indian Reservation (also known as the Mdewakankton Tribal Reservation) is entirely within the county, along the southern bank of the Minnesota River in Paxton and Sherman townships. Sherburn is a city in Martin County, Minnesota, Martin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,137 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated the 2018 population as 1,093. Interstate 90 in Minnesota, Interstate 90 and Minnesota State Highway 4 are two of the main arterial routes in the city. Dee Long
Dee Long (born April 1939) is a Minnesota politician, a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing part of Minneapolis. Long was the first woman to serve as Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, a position she held from 1992 to 1993. Long attended Northwestern University before transferring to the University of Minnesota, where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Psychology. She first won election to the House of Representatives in 1978, and served in the body until 1998. Long was elected as the first female Speaker of the House in 1992. Her tenure in that position was cut short due to the "Phonegate" scandal, in which members of the House of Representatives were found to be using state toll-free access codes for personal use.
