Kattrin Jadin
Kattrin Jadin (born 1 July 1980) is a Belgian judge. Since September 2022 she serves as a member of the Belgian Constitutional Court. Career She ran for the Chamber of Representatives for the first time in 2004, failing to be elected. She ran again in 2007, successfully being elected. In 2009, she was named president of the Partei für Freiheit und Fortschritt. She was elected in 2007 and served in the federal parliament (2007-2022) and as president of the Partei für Freiheit und Fortschritt. In 2015, she was part of the parliament's inquiry commission into the Volkswagen emissions scandal. In 2017, she stated that she was in favour of opening a debate on the legalisation of cannabis in Belgium. In 2019, she was among the candidates rumoured to be running for the leadership of the Reformist Movement. The Volkswagen emissions scandal, sometimes known as Dieselgate or Emissionsgate, began in September 2015, when the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a notice of violation of the Clean Air Act to German automaker Volkswagen Group. The Reformist Movement (french: Mouvement Réformateur, MR) is a liberal French-speaking political party in Belgium. MR is traditionally a conservative-liberal party, but it also contains social-liberal factions. The party is in coalition as part of the Michel Government then Wilmès Government since October 2014, having provided two prime ministers since. After the 2007 general election the MR was the largest Francophone political formation in Belgium, a position that was regained by the Socialist Party in the 2010 general election.
