Katsikas Refugee Camp
Katsikas refugee camp, officially termed Katsikas facility of temporary reception by the Greek government, is an operation unit under the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum for the hosting and temporary reception of Immigration, immigrants and refugees in Greece. It is located in the municipal community of Katsikas of the municipality of Ioannina in the Ioannina (regional unit), Ioannina regional unit of Epirus Region. The National Public Health Organization (Greece), National Public Health Organization, the Ministry of Education, the Greek military, Greek Military and aid agencies "Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland, ASB Greece" and "METAdrasi, Metadrasi" operate in the camp. The Units for the Reinstatement of Order ( el, Μονάδες Αποκατάστασης Τάξης, ''Monades Apokatastasis Taksis'', MAT) are a special division of the Hellenic Police, whose primary and most famous role is that of riot control. They were the first special police units founded in Greece. They were created to lift the burden from other bodies of police and armed forces from involvement in riots, illegal gatherings and demonstrations. Filippiada ( el, Φιλιππιάδα) is a small town and a former municipality in the Preveza regional unit, Epirus, Greece.
