Katrin Ottarsdóttir (born 1957) is a Faroese movie director and author. Biography Katrin Ottarsdóttir was born in Tórshavn. While growing up in the Faroes, she did not have television available to her, but enjoyed cinema. She went to Denmark in 1976 and is the first person from the Faroe Islands to study at the film school in Copenhagen, graduating in 1982. In 1989, she received the first prize for a Faroese film at the Nordische Filmtage film festival, for '' Atlantic Rhapsody''. Ottarsdóttir writes her own screenplays and also directs the films. She first appeared on screen as Lucy Collins in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside'' (1982–1983), before going on to win the 1997 Evening Standard Film Award for Best Actress for the Mike Leigh film ''Career Girls''. Katrin Krabbe (; later Zimmermann, born 22 November 1969) is a German former track and field athlete. She represented East Germany (GDR) at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and went on to win the 100 metres and 200 metres titles at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo, representing a unified Germany. Her best times are 10.89 secs for 100m (1988) and 21.95 secs for 200m (1990).
