Katoomba Christian Convention
Katoomba Christian Convention (KCC) is an interdenominational ministry providing evangelical Bible preaching to Christians. Conventions are held in KCC's 2300 seat auditorium at Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains approximately west of the Central Business District of Sydney, Australia. At present there are six conventions (many of them run over 2–3 identical weekends). The site also hosts the annual CMS Summer School, organised by the Church Missionary Society which draws close to 3000 people a day during the first week of January. Conventions There are multiple conventions including Onward (High Schoolers, Young Adults and Adults), Oxygen (Christian Leaders), NextGen (Rising Youth and Children's Ministry Leaders), One Love (Women's Conference), Basecamp (Men's Conference), KYCK (high schoolers) and KEC (all ages). Katoomba, New South Wales
Katoomba is the chief town of the City of Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia, and the administrative headquarters of Blue Mountains City Council. The council's understanding is that Katoomba is located on the lands of the Dharug and Gundungurra Aboriginal peoples. Katoomba is situated on the Great Western Highway west of Sydney and south-east of Lithgow. Katoomba railway station is on the Main Western line. Katoomba is a base for bush and nature walks in the surrounding Blue Mountains. At the 2016 census, Katoomba had a population of 7,964 people. Etymology Kedumba or Katta-toon-bah is an Aboriginal term for "shining falling water" or "water tumbling over hill" and takes its name from a waterfall that drops into the Jamison Valley below the Harrys Amphitheatre escarpment. The Church Mission Society (CMS), formerly known as the Church Missionary Society, is a British mission society working with the Christians around the world. Matt Chandler (pastor)
Matt Chandler (born June 20, 1974) is the lead pastor of teaching at the Village Church, a Southern Baptist Convention, Southern Baptist church in Flower Mound, Texas, and the president of the Acts 29 Network. Early life Chandler was born in Seattle, Washington. His father was in the military, causing him to move multiple times. They lived in Olympia, Washington; Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; Alameda, California and Galveston, Texas. In Texas, the 6' 5" Chandler was a member of the high school football team. Phillip Jensen
Phillip David Jensen (born 1945) is an Australian cleric of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney and the former Dean of St Andrew's Cathedral. He is the brother of Peter Jensen, the former Anglican Archbishop of Sydney. Early life and conversion Jensen spent the early years of his life living at Bellevue Hill, a suburb in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. His first public statement of faith came at a Billy Graham crusade in 1959. He married his wife Helen in 1969. Education and ministry Jensen studied theology at Moore Theological College from 1967 to 1970 and won the Hey Sharp prize for coming first in the Licenciate of Theology (ThL), the standard course of study at that time.
