2006 IBSF World Championships
The 2006 IBSF World Snooker Championship was an amateur snooker event, sanctioned by the International Billiards and Snooker Federation, held at the Amman Olympics Sports Centre in Amman, Jordan from November 5-November 15, 2006. Results Men A total of 32 players qualified for finishing in the top 4 positions in eight groups. They were drawn into a 32 player knock-out bracket to decide the winner. Women Source: Snooker Scene Reanne Evans, the 2004 champion, did not enter the event. There were twenty entries, and two qualifying groups of ten players were set, each to be played as a round-robin, with the top four from each group qualifying for the eight-player knock-out phase to decide the winner. Anuja Chandra-Thakur (born 1983) is an Indian amateur player of snooker and English billiards. 2009 IBSF World Snooker Championship – Women's
The 2009 IBSF World Snooker Championship for women took place from 15 to 25 November 2009 at the Hyderabad International Convention Center Hall, Hyderabad. Ng On-yee won the tournament by defeating Kathy Parashis 5–2 in the final. The tournament was organised by the International Billiards and Snooker Federation. Defending champion Reanne Evans did not participate as she could not raise the funds to travel from England to India for the event. Participants were divided between four round-robin groups (three of six players each, and one with five players), with the top four from each group qualifying for the knockout stage. Vidya Pillai and Ramona Belmont both won all of their five group matches, and Yu Ching Ching won all four of hers.
