Kathy Lohmer
Kathy M. Lohmer (born January 15, 1954) is an American politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, she represented District 39B, which includes portions of Washington County in the eastern Twin Cities metropolitan area, from 2010-2018. She is the founder of a homeschool cooperative and she and her husband are also small business owners. She was previously a medical office administrator. Minnesota House of Representatives Lohmer was first elected to the House in 2010 and was re-elected in 2012, 2014, and 2016. She ran for re-election in 2018 but was unseated by Democratic challenger Shelly Christensen. Personal life Lohmer is an active volunteer in her community and church. Julie Bunn (born November 23, 1957) is a Minnesota politician and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives representing District 56A, which includes portions of Washington County in the eastern Twin Cities metropolitan area. A Democrat, she is also an economist, policy analyst and consultant. Bunn was first elected in 2006, and was re-elected in 2008. She was unseated by Republican Kathy Lohmer in her 2010 re-election bid. She was a member of the House's Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight Committee and Ways and Means Committee, and also served as vice chair of the Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight Subcommittee for the Licensing Division, and was a member of the Finance Subcommittee for the Health Care and Human Services Finance Division. Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. (BSMA), is a private nonprofit organization in the United States that provides support for mothers who have sons or daughters in active service in the U.S. Armed Forces. It was originally formed during World War II. The name came from the custom of families of servicemen hanging a banner called a Service Flag in a window of their homes. The Service Flag had a star for each family member in the military. Living servicemen were represented by a Blue Star and those who had lost their lives were represented by a Gold Star. Spina Bifida
Spina bifida (Latin for 'split spine'; SB) is a birth defect in which there is incomplete closing of the spine and the membranes around the spinal cord during early development in pregnancy. There are three main types: spina bifida occulta, meningocele and myelomeningocele. Meningocele and myelomeningocele may be grouped as spina bifida cystica. The most common location is the lower back, but in rare cases it may be in the middle back or neck. Occulta has no or only mild signs, which may include a hairy patch, dimple, dark spot or swelling on the back at the site of the gap in the spine. Michelle "Shelly" Christensen is an American politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), she represented District 39B in the eastern Twin Cities metropolitan area. Early life and education Christensen was raised in Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota and graduated from Stillwater Area High School in 1973. She attended the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in secondary English and Aspen University, graduating with a Master of Arts in education.
