Kathryn Crosby (born Olive Kathryn Grandstaff; November 25, 1933) is a retired American actress and singer who performed in films under the stage names Kathryn Grant and Kathryn Grandstaff. Life and career Born Olive Kathryn Grandstaff in West Columbia, Texas, she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1955. Two years later she became Bing Crosby's second wife, being more than thirty years his junior. The couple had three children, Harry, Mary Frances, and Nathaniel. She appeared as a guest star on her husband's 1964–1965 ABC sitcom '' The Bing Crosby Show''. Crosby largely retired from acting after her marriage, but did have featured roles as Princess Parisa in ''The 7th Voyage of Sinbad'' (1958), and in the courtroom drama ''Anatomy of a Murder'' (1959). Kathryn Grant, née Ptacek (born September 12, 1952) is an American writer and editor. Since 1981, she has published science fiction, fantasy, horror, suspense, and romance short stories and novels under her maiden and married names, and under the pseudonyms Les Simons, Kathryn Atwood, Anne Mayfield, and Kathleen Maxwell. She is the editor and publisher of the writers-market magazine ''The Gila Queen's Guide to Markets''. Biography Kathryn Anne Ptacek was born on September 12, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska, United States, but she was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received her B. A. in Journalism, with a minor in history, with honors from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, in 1974. She was married to Charles L. Grant from February 1982 until his death in 2006. Katherine Grant of Rothiemurchus, 12th Countess of Dysart (1 June 1918 – 8 November 2011) was a Scottish peer. She was born Katherine Greaves, daughter of Major Owain Edward Whitehead Greaves and Wenefryde Agatha Greaves, who succeeded as 10th Countess of Dysart (1889–1975) in 1935. On her mother's death Lady Katherine's elder sister, Lady Rosamund Agnes (1914–2003) became the 11th Countess of Dysart, but never married or had issue; on her death in December 2003 Lady Katherine succeeded to the titles of Countess of Dysart and Lady Huntingtower. In 1941, she married Lieutenant-Colonel John Peter Grant younger of Rothiemurchus (1915–1987), who succeeded his father as 15th Grant of Rothiemurchus.
