''The Kathmandu Post'' is a major daily newspaper published in Nepal. Founded in February 1993 by Shyam Goenka, it is one of the largest English-language newspapers in the country. The newspaper is independently owned and published by Kantipur Publications, the owners of Nepal's largest selling newspaper, the Nepali-language ''Kantipur''. ''Post'' is a member of the Asia News Network, an alliance of nineteen Asian newspapers. The ''Kathmandu Post'' is Nepal's first privately owned English broadsheet daily, and is Nepal's largest selling English language newspaper, with a daily circulation of 95,000 copies. Kantipur Publications Pvt. Ltd. ( ne, कान्तिपुर पब्लिकेशन्स प्रा. लि.) is a media firm based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The company operates five widely circulated print publications. It is the first media organization in Nepal to gain membership to the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN). It was founded by Shyam Goenka in 1993 AD. Anup Kaphle
Anup Kaphle is a Nepali journalist who is currently the editor-in-chief of ''Rest of World'', an online publication that focuses on technology. Kaphle has previously worked for ''The Atlantic'', ''The Washington Post'', Buzzfeed News and has led ''The Kathmandu Post'' as editor-in-chief. Early life and education Kaphle grew up in the Nepali city of Pokhara. He moved to the capital city of Kathmandu, where he interned at ''The Himalayan Times'' in 2003. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by a virus, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
