Kathleen Teahan
Kathleen M. Teahan (born June 11, 1947) is an American politician. She represented the 7th Plymouth District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1997 to 2007. She resides in Whitman. Biography Kathleen M. Teahan was married and had four children. She taught school at the Gordon W. Mitchell Middle School in East Bridgewater and then at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. Achievements During her tenure in office, Teahan was named ''Legislator of the Month'' by the Massachusetts Medical Society. Teahan was a member of the Joint Committee on Health Care, and the Joint Committee on State Administration, since her first term. She served on the Committee to Study Adoption, the Committee to Study End-of-Life Issues, the Special Commission on Oral Health, and the Special Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Veterans History Project
The Veterans History Project of the Library of Congress American Folklife Center (commonly known as the Veterans History Project) was created by the United States Congress in 2000 to collect and preserve the firsthand remembrances of U.S. wartime veterans. Its mandate ensures future generations may hear directly from those who served to better understand the realities of war. It is a special project of the American Folklife Center, a research center of the Library of Congress. The program is conducted through Congressional offices and relies on a national network of veteran service organizations, universities, secondary schools, community groups and the general public to record interviews according to program guidelines. The American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. was created by Congress in 1976 "to preserve and present American Folklife". The center includes the Archive of Folk Culture, established at the library in 1928 as a repository for American folk music. Whitman, Massachusetts
Whitman is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 15,121 at the 2020 census. It is notable as being the place where the chocolate chip cookie was invented. History Whitman was first settled by Europeans in 1670 and was officially incorporated in 1875. Prior to becoming Whitman, it was formally the southern parish of the town of Abington. The new name, Whitman, was taken from Augustus Whitman, whose family who grew up in South Abington, and was adopted in 1886.
