Kathleen Herrmann
Kathleen Herrmann is an American poet. She serves concurrently with Jacalyn Eyvonne as poet laureate of Vallejo, California. Writing Kathleen Herrmann's poetry has been published in anthologies in Africa, Australia, and North America, and in the ''Benicia Herald'' newspaper. She has received awards in poetry from the Solano County Fair and Ina Coolbrith Poetry Circle. Herrmann performed for the Flyway Festival, Vallejo Poetry Festival, Napa Valley Writers Club, Alameda Island Poets, the American Association of University Women, Benicia First Tuesday Poets, Poetry by the Bay, and KZCT. Vallejo ( ; ) is a city in Solano County, California and the second largest city in the North Bay region of the Bay Area. Located on the shores of San Pablo Bay, the city had a population of 126,090 at the 2020 census. Vallejo is home to the California Maritime Academy, Touro University California and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Vallejo is named after Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, the famed Californio general and statesman. Jeremy Snyder
Jeremy Snyder is an American poet. He served as poet laureate of Vallejo, California from 2020 through 2023. Background Snyder was born in Vallejo, California, educated at the University of Montana, and served in the United States Navy. Poetry Jeremy Snyder began writing poetry at age 5. From 2018 through 2022, Snyder hosted a poetry open mic, Poetry by the Bay, at the downtown Oddfellows Hall and online. Poetry by the Bay was founded in 2008 by Kyrah Ayers. Jacalyn Evone Robinson known professionally as Jacalyn Eyvonne is an African-American poet and filmmaker. She serves concurrently with Kathleen Herrmann as poet laureate of Vallejo, California. Writing Jacalyn Eyvonne is the author of 3 books, and her poems have appeared in anthologies in North America and the United Kingdom. In 2022 she placed second in the Jackson Book Festival poetry competition. In the 1990s she edited the magazine ''In the Company of Poets'' based in Oakland, California. Eyvonne is influenced by the work of Gwendolyn Brooks, Maya Angelou, and Nikki Giovanni. Eyvonne serves concurrently with Kathleen Herrmann as poet laureate of Vallejo, California. Dr. Genea Brice is an American poet. She was the first Poet Laureate of Vallejo, California. Biography Genea S. Brice was born in Oakland, California and raised in Vallejo, California. She is a graduate of Hogan Senior High School in Vallejo. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in English Literature and a Teaching Credential from Patten University. She went on to the Sacramento Theological Seminary and Bible College to earn her Master of Arts and doctorate in Theological Studies.
