Kateryna Bilokur
Kateryna Vasylivna Bilokur ( uk, Катерина Василівна Білокур; – 9 June 1961) was a Ukrainian folk artist born in the Poltava Governorate. Her birth date is unknown but 7 December is used as her official birthday. After an unpromising start, her works became known in the late 1930s and 1940s for their interest in nature. She was named People's Artist of Ukraine. It was said that Pablo Picasso saw her work exhibited in Paris and commented, "If we had an artist of this level, we would make the whole world talk about her." Biography Her birthday is celebrated on 24 November (7 December) in 1900, and she was born in a village of Bohdanivka. At the age of 6 or 7, Bilokur learned to read. Her family decided not to send her to school to save money on shoes and clothes. She started drawing from a young age, though her parents frowned upon this hobby and wouldn't permit her do it. Bohdanivka ( uk, Богда́нівка) is a village in Boryspil Raion in the east of Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine. It belongs to Yahotyn urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Local government is administered by Bohdanivska village council. It comprises villages Bohdanivka and Koptevychivka. Bohdanivka ( uk, Богданiвка; russian: Богдановка) is a village near Ternivka in Pavlohrad Raion (district) of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (province) in eastern Ukraine. Google Doodle
A Google Doodle is a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google's homepages intended to commemorate holidays, events, achievements, and notable historical figures. The first Google Doodle honored the 1998 edition of the long-running annual Burning Man event in Black Rock City, Nevada, and was designed by co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin to notify users of their absence in case the servers crashed. Early Marketing employee Susan Wojcicki then spearheaded subsequent Doodles, including an alien landing on Google and additional custom logos for major holidays. Google Doodles were designed by an outside contractor until 2000, when Page and Brin asked public relations officer Dennis Hwang to design a logo for Bastille Day.
