Katelyn Gosling
Katelyn Gosling (born May 8, 1993) is a Canadian women's ice hockey player. Having earned Canadian Interuniversity Sport All-Canadian honours while competing for the Western Mustangs women's ice hockey program, Gosling was claimed by the Calgary Inferno in the 2016 CWHL Draft. She would also compete with Canada's national team at the Winter Universiade, serving as Canada's captain at the 2017 tournament. Playing career During her teens, Katelyn played in the PWHL for the London Devilettes. Western Mustangs In the aftermath of the 2012-13 season, Gosling was named to the CIS First Team All-Canadians. Among the other players named as First Team All-Canadians were Melodie Daoust and Hayley Wickenheiser. Katelyn was a co-captain of the Mustangs program that captured the gold medal at the 2015 CIS women's ice hockey national championships. Western Mustangs Women's Ice Hockey
The Western Mustangs women's ice hockey team represents the University of Western Ontario Western Mustangs and competes in the Ontario University Athletics conference, which participates nationally in the U Sports athletic program. The Mustangs play at Thompson Arena in London, Ontario. The women's hockey team has won 2 Ontario University Athletics women's ice hockey championships (2014–15 and 2017–18) and 1 U Sports championship (2014–15). The current coach of the team is Candice Moxley, who was a prior head coach for the Markham Thunder as well as the Buffalo State Women’s Division III hockey team. 2015 Winter Universiade
The 2015 Winter Universiade, the XXVII Winter Universiade, was a multi sport winter event held in Granada, Spain and Štrbské Pleso, Slovakia. On 14 March 2009, FISU announced that the host would be Granada because they were the only bid. On 25 June 2014, FISU announced that Slovakia would become the co-host of 2015 Winter Universiade. FISU approved to move the Nordic Skiing and Biathlon events to Štrbské Pleso and Osrblie in Slovakia. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The Universiade is referred to in English as the World University Games or World Student Games; however, this latter term can also refer to competitions for sub-University grades students. The 3rd Canadian Women's Hockey League All-Star Game took place on February 12, 2017, at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
