Kate Heavenor
Kate Diaz ( née Heavenor; born 2 August 1980, in Glasgow) is a Scottish actress and television presenter. She is best known for her work presenting live children's television on CBBC. Since 2006 she has been the principal at Southgate and Enfield Stagecoach Theatre Arts. Heavenor grew up in Pollokshields, Glasgow. She attended Craigholme School, an independent school for girls, and trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Television While still studying Heavenor began her career at BBC Scotland co-presenting Saturday morning children's television show ''The Crew Room'' for BBC Choice. She went on to present Sunday morning children's programme ''Fully Booked'' and the technology series ''Hyperlinks'' at BBC Scotland. She relocated to London to pursue her television work and presented ''Studio Disney'' on the Disney Channel before spending six years presenting on Children's BBC. CBBC Presenters
BBC Children's and Education is the BBC division responsible for media content for children in the UK. Since the launch of specially dedicated television channels in 2002, the services have been marketed under two brands. CBBC (short for Children's BBC or initialed for Children's British Broadcasting Corporation) is aimed at children aged between 6 and 12, and CBeebies offers content for younger viewers. Unlike CBeebies, the CBBC brand pre-dates the launch of these channels and before 2002, CBBC was also the brand name used for all of the BBC's children's programmes. Captain Abercromby
''Captain Abercromby'' is a children's TV show that was on BBC Two in 2002–2003. Its cast are puppets. Series overview Captain Abercromby was a puppet series about a boy named Abercromby, who is raised by his grandfather. After hearing the tale of how his Grandpa lost his watch, which was given to him by Abercromby's mother, he dreams that he is a captain of a seaship, the "Hope", and that he is on a mission to find the watch. They have a rival crew attempting to find buried treasure, run by Captain Jake in his ship "Thunderbottom", who mistakenly (but logically) believe that Abercromby is looking for buried treasure, so making the series a race between the two ships. CBeebies
CBeebies is a British free-to-air public broadcast children's television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It is also the brand used for all BBC content for children aged 6 years and under. Its sister channel CBBC is aimed at older children ages 6–12. It broadcasts every day from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, timesharing with BBC Four. History On November 20, 2001, the CBeebies name was officially revealed as part of the split of the already-existing CBBC block, and would be used as both a pre-school block and a digital channel. SuperCasino is a gambling television channel which aired on Channel 5, in the United Kingdom, from 2009 to 2018. Origin SuperCasino launched in April 2005 as Vegas 24/7 Limited, onto Sky Channel 697, as the world's first interactive casino channel. The company reversed into NetplayTV PLC and was listed on the London Stock Exchange, reaching a market cap of £80m. The company received investment from Playtech and was later acquired by Betsson PLC. National Lottery (United Kingdom)
The National Lottery is the state-franchising, franchised national lottery established in 1994 in the United Kingdom. It is regulated by the Gambling Commission, and is currently operated by Camelot Group, to which the licence was granted in 1994, 2001 and again in 2007, but will be operated by Allwyn Entertainment Ltd from 2024. Prizes are paid as a lump sum (with the exception of the Set For Life which is paid over a set period) and are tax-free. Of all money spent on National Lottery games, around 53% goes to the prize fund and 25% to "good causes" as set out by UK Parliament, Parliament (though some of this is considered by some to be a form of "stealth tax" levied to support the National Lottery Community Fund, a fund constituted to support public spending). 12% goes to the UK Government as lottery duty, 4% to retailers as commission, and a total of 5% to operator Camelot, with 4% to cover operating costs and 1% as profit.
