Kate Gardiner
Kate Gardiner (21 September 1885–29 January 1974) was a New Zealand mountaineer. She was born in Wavertree, Liverpool, Lancashire, England on 21 September 1885. She was the daughter of Frederick Gardiner who made the first ascent of Mount Elbrus. In 1930 she made first ascents with her guide Walter Feuz in the Canadian Rockies of Mount Lyautey, Mount Sarrail, Mount Foch, Mount Bogart, Warrior Mountain, and Mount Galatea. Wavertree
Wavertree is a district of Liverpool, England. It is a ward of Liverpool City Council, and its population at the 2011 census was 14,772. Located to the south and east of the city centre, it is bordered by various districts and suburbs such as Childwall, Edge Hill, Fairfield, Mossley Hill, Old Swan, and Toxteth. Mount Galatea
Mount Galatea is the highest peak of the Kananaskis Range, a subrange of the Canadian Rockies in the province of Alberta. It is located in the upper Spray Lakes Valley of the Kananaskis Country system of provincial parks. The mountain was named after the Royal Navy cruiser HMS ''Galatea''. Geology Mount Galatea is composed of sedimentary rock laid down during the Precambrian to Jurassic periods. Formed in shallow seas, this sedimentary rock was pushed east and over the top of younger rock during the Laramide orogeny. Climate Based on the Köppen climate classification, Mount Galatea is located in a subarctic climate zone with cold, snowy winters, and mild summers. White Pyramid (Banff)
White Pyramid is a mountain summit located between the Howse River valley and Mistaya River valley of Banff National Park, in the Canadian Rockies of Alberta, Canada. Its nearest higher peak is Howse Peak, to the south. Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises 1,460 meters (4,790 ft) above Chephren Lake in 2.5 km (1.5 mile). White Pyramid is visible from the Icefields Parkway in the vicinity of Waterfowl Lakes. History It was named in 1901 by J. Norman Collie to distinguish it from Mount Chephren, which back then was named Pyramid Mountain. The two peaks are nearly the same in height, and separated by only one kilometre. Foster Peak
Foster Peak is a mountain summit located on the western border of Kootenay National Park. It is the highest point in the Vermilion Range, a sub-range of the Canadian Rockies of British Columbia, Canada. Its nearest higher peak is Mount Ball, to the northeast. The mountain is part of what is known as The Rockwall. Floe Lake, southeast of the peak, is one of the beauty spots of Kootenay National Park. The area is accessible via the Floe Lake Trail and Rockwall Trail. Mount Alcantara
Mount Alcantara is a mountain summit located in British Columbia, Canada. Description Mount Alcantara is the highest point in the Blue Range, a subrange of the Canadian Rockies. This remote peak is situated west of the Continental Divide and south-southeast of majestic Mount Assiniboine. Precipitation runoff from Alcantara drains into Alcantara and Aurora creeks which are both part of the Cross River watershed. Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises over 1,500 meters (4,920 feet) above Aurora Creek in two kilometers (1.2 mile).
